no no no, it's all about a bonfire, a blanket, and smoke signals. it's retro communication, baby! wear those Blades with pride.

seriously though, lots of people don't have land lines anymore because of cell phones.

Wow, I thought "King" was only a nickname. You actually live in medieval times don't you?

I got rid of my land line, but of course my cellphone bill went up an equal amount due to minute overages.

Not seriously. I don't have cable because I don't want to pay $80 a month to not watch 90% of the programming aired. I do have rabbit ears for 5 channels.

I don't have a land line phone because my cell has been more than sufficient for many years now. And this is even after years of telling roommates we didn;t need one either thanks to cheap plans and included all over calling and LD.

I'll try to record it on my DVD recorder. Then I can make a pristine copy if anyone wants it.

Looks as if Phil and I are of the same mind...no cable or satellite. Too much shit on the tube. The rabbit ears are of no use either...our house is positioned between some of Vermont's finest Green Mountains.

However, I am a member of Netflix...and movies get turned around here fast.

Dann...I would also be interested in getting a copy. When would you like the replacement DVD's?

Same here Lo. That and some extra cash to usually grab a new dvd or two or season set per month.

Phil-

As luck would have it, Netflix recently put a warehouse about 12 miles from the house...so turn around time for movies is about 2-3 days. Helps to get to money out of the membership.

I used to get the movie, rip it to my computer and then burn a copy, and have it back to the postoffice by 5:00. They'd arrive back the next day and send one out, so I'd have 3 movies every 2 days or so.

I do the $25 a month thing at Blockbuster. I get two rentals at a time, and go back pretty much every day. My DVD collection is growing pretty quickly.

I ran out of movies though. Got some real stupid ones by the end. Didn't even end up watching most of them.

No, passing the torch was a re-run episode. This one was called fast and furious.

Fred: I have it on my dvr, but have to get a way to input it into my computer so I can transfer all episodes to dvd. I have recorded them all. I also saw the guy from R&D who did the tour I was on last time too! Pretty cool.
