I was just contemplating on which cell phone to get and I saw this thread. What a coincidence.

I'm using a Nokia6100 at the moment and I"m getting pretty tired of it... or Nokia. So I'm thinking of going for something like a Sony Ericsson..

What models do you guys recommend? I'm thinking of the k800i, but there are reviews saying that the menu response is a little slow. Should that be an issue??

Cullen's W900 has been a sweet little phone. If you can afford it, I'd recommend it.

Oh damn! I almost forgot the best non-Smartphone/PDA phone I've ever had!

The Sony Ericsson S710a! Great reception pickup, great photos, great sound quality...just a great phone overall! I don't think I had one complaint about this phone. I just wish I could find PTT software that would work for this phone so I could use it instead of my Samsung.

*bump*

I'll be going for the k800i. I've been using Nokia for 10years now and a change would be refreshing.

I need confirmation on this. Is the lens cover loose? As in, it slides open easily and can be opened by accident.

i just went from a beat-up, clunk nokia 3595 to a samsung t619. a HUGE change, and i'm really happy.it's as thin as a razr but smaller, and has all the nifty bluetooth and stuff. it's so new that the first google result for it is a "first look" page

Yea, but you're still using T-Mobile. Time to change that, too. ;) ::LOL::

Nahh.. I was thinking that but I didnt want the N95, its just ugly.. thought it has 5MP camera...

S3an: K800i has ugly video quality but better quality of pictures than N93's. N93 has amazing video recording capability.. It's DVD-like! Not DVD quality though but super sweet! =)

Thanks for the tip, zik. I already sourced all these out from the net and will be going for the k800i anyway because of a good deal i'm getting in Malaysia. (320USD with 512MB card).

Picture quality of the k800i surpasses the N93's, according to various "k800i vs N93" searches I've done. Too bad bout the video though...

i'm still lusting after the K800 but the only thing that's keeping me from buying it is the new M2 Memory Stick. if i upgrade from my K800 not only do i have to buy a new memory card, but the M2 only maxes out at 1GB for the time being.

PDA/Smartphone converted... Treo 650.

Firmly believe that once u go pda/smart, you cant go back! Packs so much that you use or will end up using, that any regular phone thereafter is nearly unacceptable!

K.. i'm about the purchase a k800i. but do you guys think i should spend an extra 70USD for a 1year warranty on top of the 278USD price tag?

The warranty, in Malaysian currency is MYR250.. so it's quite a lot.

k800i users... any problems so far? is warranty needed?
