I though about it once. After the feud with SGH, just before the Lux takeover and the creation of OPDs. The stock went real low but I still didn't have any money to buy. I lost out big time.

heh... would it be possible to buy just one share, just so i can claim part company ownership? quite a novel idea, actually...

I think it is possible to buy one share. The commissioncosts are probably higher then sharevallue. You'd want to buy OO when it's at about $10.00 to $11.00
In 1987 I got 1 share Boston Celtics for my birthday and I received years in a row a cheque for about $0.40 intrest in the mail.

That's the exact reason why I wanted one share of Boston Celtics. That and being a huge fan of Larry Bird. The orriginal paper stock is now framed and on the wall in my study.

I've been buying it since it was down around $12 per share. That spike to almost $19 recently was nice. You did get an annual report with lots to read about Oakley. What they did and plan to do next year.

heh... where can an average guy like me be able to buy a share of Oakley's stocks? having one framed and hanging on the wall sounds like a pretty good idea.

But that can get a little pricey. It's $16.00 for the one share of stock. Then there's the frame, transfer and so on. It ends up being like $99.

yes, you can buy 1 or as many shares of oakley stock as you want. i have around 35 shares of oakley and i bought it right after the 911 and it was around $8 or $9 each share. it is cool the annual report you get in a cool folder. i will buy more one of these days. it goes up and down all the time but is normally around the $18 mark.

Nowadays trading stock is all electronics. I remember in 87 it was already difficult to get the paper share. My guess is obtaining an orriginal paper share is virtually impossible.

edit: My wrong...should have clicked that link before posting!

You could also check out sharebuilder.com to even buy just parts of stock.
