I'd say Wiretap was an attmept to thicken C5 and use it more sculpturally. Even my rep wasn;t sure what SPike would be made from.

like others, i'm still not sure about this one.. i'll have to see it in person.

i'll agree with Phil that they tried to do some sculpted C5 stuff with the Wiretap. shame they didn't carry on with it because i really like the Wiretap. maybe not too much the lens shape but the rest of it was cool.

The pic on Dan's laptop looks a lot better, but I agree with Todd, it seems to take a lot of cues from the Riddle, which I have and really like (although that seems to be a minority opinion). I just would really like to see Oakley focus on unique styles, even if it means fewer release each quarter/year.

ummmmm yuck...I hope they look a LOT better than the pics. Certainly seems like one huge step backwards.

Interesting. Could be a nice sturdy version of the Warden style glasses. Wait and see.

Thanks FP. I like them, but then again like I mentioned before I'm a sucker for metal frames. I don't mind the slight "fashion" quality. To me they're still Oakley, maybe not like a Juliet, but it's still there in some degree. Now I'm just waiting to see what the other initial colorways will be.

Are they actually C5? They look okay. I'll try them if I see them and maybe SGH will get them too and make it easier to decide.

ooh... i see adjustable nosepads! very cool.
since i could never wear a pair of Gascans, Dartboards, etc... these Spikes might just fit the bill for something more fashionable for me. can't wait to try them.

any word on what colour combos are offered?

i'll never cease to be amazed at how some of you guys are able to get early pics of these. that's just awesome.

having said that, the spikes look... eh. it's two-lensed, metal riddle.

Thanks FP, It's hard to tell from the pics but I hope the frame is slightly condensed compared the riddle. In depth it obviously is (ie frame thickness) but how about the overall width/height?
