okay... i went to the NYC SoHo O-Store today and had a look around. the leather jacket i saw was indeed a Salvage. i took a quick photo of it with my crappy cameraphone but i can't upload it to the comp until i get to work tomorrow.

i wear a large, which was the ONLY size they didn't have, so i tried on a medium. i have to say the jacket looks pretty good. the brownish, distressed looking leather matches well with a t-shirt and faded blue jeans. pretty cool... i didn't have time to look at particular details of the jacket, but i remember some large looking buckles for the waist tab adjustment. the zipper was kinda thin; definitely not heavy duty spec like Talon or YKK zippers. the jacket as a whole isn't too thick, so it's more of a early fall fashion item... i doubt it would keep you warm enough for the late fall or winter.

one thing i didn't like about the Salvage was that it has the same kind of graphic letters/logos on the back of the jacket, graphics that oakley are keen on putting on their apparel lately... stuff like the new sweatshirts and the 75 History tee comes to mind.

if i could find a good price on the Salvage jacket, i might consider buying one, but at the asking price of $599, i think i'll pass.

buy the jacket , and don't eat for a week ! you kill 2 birds in one stone, you'll fit the medium , and you saved yourself some money not buying food

Bong thanks for the info. on the Salvage jacket.
I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of the "same kind of graphic letters/logos on the back of the jacket, graphics that oakley are keen on putting on their apparel lately... stuff like the new sweatshirts and the 75 History tee comes to mind."

But for some reason it's still saying..."Buy me, buy me, buy me."

I guess we'll wait and see if I can see a pic at some point and maybe that will either quiet the voices or make them stronger.

okay guys... i'm sat at home, waiting for the plumber because my bathroom sprung a leak, and i don't want to risk the house flooding by going to work. so instead of uploading via infrared on my work comp, i emailed it from my cell phone, which isn't free but i did promise pics today. ^_^

sorry about the crappiness of the photos... i have a cheap cameraphone, but i'm sure you'll get the general idea of the Salvage jacket.

Thanks again Bong! It seems to fit you well. So far from what I can see I do like it.

that might be a thought... ^_^
but seriously, i can't see myself spending $600 on a leather jacket. my favourite Schott NYC leather jacket costs half of that, and Schott leather jackets are awesome.

but i did like the Salvage, shame about the graphics on the back.

Hey Darren, any chance of you either re-posting or pointing the way to the pic of you done out in biker gear and the medusa. That was awsome and I suppose kind of relevant to the current topic.

Its nice, I saw it at the Toronto store, very nice, did not look at the price.

I chated with a sponsored athlete who has the white version that wont be produced, too costly I was told.

What a shame...

I cant remember if we took pics of it, Alex will be able to confirm.

From what I can see, the front looks good, but if what's beem said is true, I'll probably not like the back. Why can't they just release a regular item and forget about overdoing everything with tacky graphics? It seems like everything apparel has some sort of print all over them. It works sometimes but come on, it doesn't have to be on everything. Anyone else?
