Oogie, I'm looking to get them 10W40 Dogs so I'll do comparison pics to Whiskey and Brown Fade again. I don;t think they'll be too similar at all, esp with the 10W40 not being a fade.

What about the Black fade Monster Dog ? any news on those ?

It says available in the database, but no pics, and I cant find it online too.

I am pretty sure they are not exclusive, so maybe Oakley is just slow (again) with updating their web site.

Any one else has some news on those ?

I wonder how 10W40 Gas Cans would look? Or did someone bring that up already?

Oakley is more than slow..it took a year for Platinum/Gold Unknowns to go up..and there are several colorways available in different styles that they can do a phone order for that they just never put up...call and ask abt Brown Fade/Gold Monster Dogs and u can either order them or be told they do not exist depending on who u talk to...when I searched out my Rootbeer/Gold XX's a year ago O told me they were gone forever.. discontinued...finished...now they are in stock again and have made their way back to the website..I wish they could have an almost real time quantity on hand...

Most of the OPD only stuff wont appear on the site so dont expect to see teh grape gascan or the 10w40 dogs any time soon.

I just called Oakley Canada and got told that the MD black fade did not exist, even when I gave them the code...

No way to buy separate Romeo fire lenses, only the black ones.

This sucks.

I was at least expecting a release date on the Black fade if they did not have them, but nothing.

When I work for an Oakley dealer a customer brought in a pair of black fade Dogs & the black was all pealing off! Anyone else ever seen this happen?

There were reports of that with the Black Fade Doggle and ealry Whiskey FatCats. I haven't had any probs with my Whiskey Dogs though, but they are an earlier produced pair if I go by the microbag they came with. We'll see.

I tought the black fade Dog had not been release ?!

I know on the site here it says available now, but we have no pictures.

More importantly Oakley (Canada at least) does not seem to know anything about them !

In the database here, it doesnt say that its an OPD combo.

So what should I do to get one ?

Thanks in advance.

www.sportsvisionbend.com has it, no pic though since they use o.coms pics. Local OPDs should have them sooner that later.

I am interested in this color too now that I know its a crystal O-matter Frame. "Crystal Merlot"

I'll call SV Bend later if they have them in stock I'll post, although I doubt it they post lots of things on their website before they are available.. Oakley itself does the same thing with their advertising. I once saw a nice looking Oakley shield on a pro triathalete that never hit the market.

No one has been able to confirm this color.
I have heard its a dark purple (black), and I ve also heard thats its a crystal. Usually , if its a crystal, there is "crystal" in the name. I will know, hopefully, next week, when sportsvisionbend.com, sends them to me.

The only reason, I believe it to be a crystal, is because the original listing had Crystal Merlot, which then was dropped and replaced by Grape, both having the same SKU.

Originally the combo was going to be crystal merlot but it changed and became grape, which is definitely more of a dark-ish colour and not crystal.

And I really want a pair!

I talked with Sports Vision Bend. They are hoping to get them the end of the week. I ordered a pair. I hope this doesn't turn out like the FMJ 5.56 Eyejacket 3.O I ordered sight unseen.... which I never wore and still sit in their original box in my closet (white metal frame ice blue iridium lenses)

Thanks,

K

I was told it looks almost black, but wasn't told if it was or wasn;t crystal. I still assume it's a crystal from the previous name and figure O couldn;t call it Merlot for whatever reason or at least a color like Blackberry where it's kinda crystal. We'll see since a few of you have ordered it already. I'm waiting until next weekend when I get out to HQ to look for myself. Hopefully they have it.

We have the Grapes in now but no pic. It's very dark and really only looks purple when light shines through.

Cheers Will! So there you go then guys (and gals), I was completley wrong! grape is indeed a crystal frame.
And it would seem, is a purple-ish version of the crystal blue as found on minutes(crystal blue/24k) and the such like. (ie you need to hold it up to the light to tell it's translucent) cool...

Yeah, originally I thought it was SGH exclusive, but now I saw the order form for them, and it's a "OPD Niche Surf/Skate" exclusive.
