I want to get some simple plastic Oakleys for summer, ones I can wear to the beach, get wet and sandy and dirty and not worry too much about them. I had Juliets but Oakley told me they rust if you get them wet. So I bought Black Chrome Splice, and after one summer of heavy use the bastards started to peel, the Black Chrome paint bit. $22 dollars later, my Splice are pretty much brand new, but I don't want to wear them again lest the paint peel as I want to sell them off on eBay and at least make some money back.

So through it all I've decided the Fives 2.0 will be perfect. They're just all plastic. No screws, paints or gizmos. Now I have to decide between Grey lenses or Grey polarized lenses.

With the large difference in price, are polarized lenses worth it? If all they do is reduce glare off the water, I don't see much point in it for me as I don't look at water very much. Do they help with normal use like driving, or walking through the street on a bright day?

Thanks to you if you reply!

I have a pair Fives 2.0 in Crystal Red with VR28 Black lenses and they are great simple, easy to go glasses. I wouldn't bother with the polarized if you don't really need it. Go cheap. If you are worried about scratches go grey, if you're not, spring the extra $10 and get Crystal Blue with Black Iridium lenses to really cut down on summer sun.

Oakley said Juliets will rust? I wonder if they were talking about the screws. Titanium can't rust... unless they add iron to it to make X-Metal.

Sweat would be every bit as corrosive as sea water, especially considering the duration. Granted rusty glasses could be cool, but we would have seen an example by now.
