The last one sold for $885, now $1250. That's quite a jump!

What have been the craziest auctions. I knew during the Ruby Juliet craze, there were some that went for a bit, but looking back, those may have only been in the thousand range.

Probably the Brown Flores throughout the years. Those are the ones that gave me the biggest WTF moments.

Brown Juliets went through that phase for a while too where they were over 1000 dollars. They still are not cheap but not that crazy.

Brown Juliet's with matching serial number box command a fair price

The prices of the Leather Mars (even the well used ones) continue to boggle my mind. Oakley had to bottom out the prices to $50 to get rid of them. The Romeos perplex me as well. The demand is so high that it trumps the supply of near 150k that's was made in its lifetime.

U start selling body parts just to buy more Oakleys , and at these prices all u would get is a beatup pair of leather mars and a t shirt lol .. That was to small

U hang up on your own mother because u got out bid on eBay on a pair of Oakley

When u go to the Oakley store and u know more then the people working there

I never saw the hype in leather mars. I think the only reason everyone wants them is because the resell price. In the late 90's early 2k's they were pretty much the eye jackets of the x-metal line.

I feel pretty fortunate to have picked up my first pair of Romeos a couple weeks ago for less than 2 bills, gas money included. Ex con just no box/coin/etc. I only have one pair I spent more than that on... but I just had to have it! With some of these higher priced pairs I'll have to settle for the "not mint" pairs. I just cant justify the costs at this point.

Tell me about it...

I was visiting one of the two stores in Downtown Toronto and one of the sales associates actually asked if the C Sixes I was wearing were Pit Bosses.

I'm always all about the models that were different, so the must-have X-Metals for me were always the Leather Mars, Copper Penny, and 24K X-Metal XX. Ruby Juliet was cool too, but I jumped into the game too late.

- "Friends" that work at Oakley call you to ask you for production numbers and new release information
- You have bought something off someones face in the mall and or Oakley parking lot
- Your introduced to people as follows "This is that dude I was telling you about that has an Oakley store in his house"
- Your phone dings at least every half hour because your watched items are ending on ebay

All true happenings in my life...lol

So true, all of it. I've been tempted to buy things off random people, but never had the guts.

You many be an Oakley fanatic if...

Today my wife was dressed and ready to depart for work when she said, "I've got to change." Clothing selection is a big deal for this woman working in a legal environment. So in 20 minutes down she comes back downstairs with a completely different skirt blouse shoes set up. "What was that all about?" I asked. She said, "I couldn't wear this watch with THAT. What was I thinking?" And she races out the door.

The girl in the seat next to you asks, "what don't you know about Oakley" after we started talking about her White OO Red Iridium Polarized Twenty's during my latest flight across the country.

(Clarification...It's not that I knew so much ,its that she knew so little)

Rather than doing work, you spend your entire day strategizing shelf-by-shelf your display arrangement.
