Hi there,

My name is Menno. I have been owning Oakley for about 20 years. It started with a simple M-Frame for cycling, then a Radar, then more Radars, Jury etc etc.

Now I bought a cabinet for all the glasses and thought why not register here and register the collection here.

Hope to talk to you soon!

thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Probably a noob question: how do I add a custom Oakley? I know how to add glasses with a SKU, but I can't find an option for custom. Is it by just adding a model to the collection without a serial?

I scrolled through the forum for half an hour, but probably in the wrong place.

Are you looking to add a custom pair to your collection, or to the database? For the Database, I like to keep it along retail lines, but if you have something for your collection, head up to the Skull & Crossbones icon at the top bar, and choose Collection. From there, there should be an Add button. Alternatively, you can find a pair in the database that is close, and then choose to 'Add with Details'. That will redirect you to the form where you can change the specifics.

@Dann, thanks, thats what I thought but now I'm sure. It was only for my collection, can't find any logic putting customs in the database.

You'd be surprised the things I have to clean up from time to time. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here I am again. Adding everything to the collection was fun, now there are some things where I get stuck. I'll just throw it in here...

1. How much do I need to get in the details. For instance the microbags. I could just count the black ones, but there are nuances in it, different labels and different places of labels. What would you guys do, file all under black or make a new entrance in the database? Same for the white ones.

2. What is this microfiber bag? I can't find it in the list, does anyone know so I can add it to the database?

3. Is the case delivered with the Jawbreaker specific for the Jawbreaker or is it a reused already existing case? Otherwise I also could add this one to the Database?

4. I just scored an Oakley Thump Pro, what's strange is that the SKU differs from the one in the database. Anyone have an idea how this is possible? Number on case is on the picture (05-189) but in de database 05-176

That's it for now, hope the questions aren't to noob...

If it's for your collection entries, then do what feels best for your records. If I have a lot, I usually just make a single entry and then change the quantity. Although for micros, I only add the odd one here and there that I purchased just due to its novelty.

In the database, we've tried to either group the OEM releases that come with the glasses (ie: the different tag variations on the black bags), and then make separate entries for bags that are sold as accessories, or if I can find a SKU. Sometimes a glasses release will show its accompanying bag, and then right-clicking on it will show a SKU in the filename.

It's sort of a messy situation, so use your best judgement. If I bag seems to be a special edition, we can add it. If it's just a tag variation, I'd hold off. There was a time in 2007 where I did try to catalog even the switch between fabrics used (older black bags were more silky), but then things blew up after that, and there were too many to count.
