Has anyone ordered a custom pair with polarized or prizm lenses? If so, do the lenses have the regular etching on them? I've heard they're not when you go though the OCP.
I've seen the Polarized moved from the bottom left to the top right to make room for other etchings. I haven't had a chance to get a Prizm OCP yet though.
I ordered a custom Jawbreaker with prizm road lenses without any custom etching a while ago. When they arrived I was suprised that I got a lens without any etching. There wasn't even a prizm etching on them. I uploaded some pictures in the latest purchase thread shortly after I bought them.
OK that's what I had heard. It's too bad because I'd like to have them be consistent with the other polarized/prizm lenses I have.
I wonder why they would do this? The lenses must be blank to allow for custom etching and if you don't get any they are shipped as is. I may have to get a custom etching that says "POLARIZED"
That's exactly what it is. The lenses are set aside specifically for OCP. It's a bit of a let down because they don't state that up front - you have to figure it out for yourself. I bought a few Racing Jacket lenses from Backcountry when they had a big sale a few months back. When I got them, none had the polarized etching. This coincided with the Racing Jacket coming off of OCP so they must have been the extra unused stock.
They are authentic to be sure (or at least the best fakes ever made! XD) and they were on sale. It just sucks a bit because the expectation is stil there, like a mark of quality.
That's interesting skull.jacket, I ordered a Custom Jawbreaker last month and thought it had the PRIZM etching on the lens. I'll have to double check it now.
I don't order customs very often, but two of the three I've ordered don't have etching (My Offshoot and Turbine don't. My Jawbreaker does, because I took the free MLB etching).
Based on my experience, I just assumed they don't etch the word Polarized on OCP lenses
