Very cool! I was always curious on how the Exoskeleton plates were welded together. I assume that this process makes lens replacement impossible? I found this image on my drive from 2003 and thought it might be of interest on this thread as well.

Nice, always cool to dig up old images. Sometimes they feel lost forever. Lens replacement is possible. In that image the text that says "O Matter Plates" is pointing to a small plate on the orbital. That has two pins underneath that are pressure fit, not welded, so once popped off, there's enough clearance to get the lens out the front like other models.

thanks dann.. never had i imagine seeing those pictures.. excellent! but i gotta say, i have not removed the lens on my plate yet due to the fear of breaking it lol..

They appeared briefly on one of the oakley.com versions. I've learned to quickly save everything I find on it, since you never know when it will disappear.
