Brennan I can't wait to see your new set-up. I love the industrial/HQ look. So no matter where Oakley goes I'll always like that. That style is what I'm shooting for as well when it comes to my set-up. Not just for Oakley but man-cave in genera - with a little Tony Stark thrown in.

Great points, all. I was thinking about it the other day, and it's become obvious I'm more into the chase than the product. Since the start of the year, I've pick up quite a number of holy grail items and paid heavily for them. Generally speaking, I look at them for literally 2 minutes and then quickly store them away in a cabinet since the high of finding a grail is over. There's gotta be something wrong with that.

I stumbled onto one of my old threads (man, did I ever create a lot of threads back in the day ruminating on the essence of collecting), and three years later I'm collecting the exact same way. Getting rarities/prototypes/one offs, staring at them for two minutes and putting them in the display case to rarely be looked at again. We all joke about being hoarders, but I think I'm officially one.

I remember reading this thread back when I was still just lurking and being all anti-social. I remember seeing your comment "I'm not exactly excited about learning about the Big Taco" and just laughing my ass off.
