Felipe from the Facebook group requested that I post these images identifying the close replicas of the Time Bomb II

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In the pictures you can see:

1 - the tone is polished titanium. The real is opaque.
2 - the "ring" of carbon fiber is very dark and does not reflect the fibers when they were CNC machined.
3 - serial number is always placed at the end of the piece and is not aligned.
4 - closing the four screws on the machine are not the same as fixing the bracelet.
5 - two parts that attach the bracelet are oval and poor finishing, forming holes.
6 - OAKLEY logo in red letters is wider and farther between.
7 - machining marks the piece and not much is still next to the logo in red.

All the Time Bomb 2 fake watches do not come with the Elite wooden box, numbered plaque and other accessories.

They're getting real close with these replicas. Some even use the exact same movement as the original (but then again a lot of fakes use that movement anyway).

One interesting thing,

In watches forums, never say the differences between fake and the original, because the fake watch makers, read the forum and make the next watches more difficult to detect the differences.

I imagine that'd be true. We had some local hunters reading the bird watching forums for rare spottings, and they were using that information to get trophies.

Yes, it is important to say, but it increasingly shows all connoisseurs and collectors who buy from anyone can lose money, the truth is always buy from someone very reliable, a shop or even direct from manufactures / online.

I've often wondered about that with fake Pit Boss sunglasses as well.

the front looks shockingly fake but they have made more of an effort at the back of the watch. I bet they are not cheap either?

I am not suprised as this has been happnening for quite some time on the bicycle frame scene for a while.
you can now easily find a Pinnarello Dogma frame ithink 2 worth 9k AUD for $600 and are very difficult to tell the difference.

Compare the photos in this eBay listing for a Time Bomb II with the photos at the beginning of this thread.
Any similarities?

Looking at the pictures of the item, the 2nd one shows a gap between the plate that holds the bracelet and the lid (where the Icon is engraved) and that shouldn't be there.
I took 2 pictures of mine with no gaps for you to compare.

The seller tells the following: "Money back garuntee that it is authentic I took it to the local Oakley store for confirmation." ...
I think isn´t true, but that´s just my opinion.

I sent a message to the seller the other day telling him that the watch was fake. He wouldn't listen.

Here's the back of the watch that's on eBay.
Check out the size, shape, spacing, and background of the red letters spelling "OAKLEY" on the rotor, and
compare the diameter and the recessed depth of the various screws

I am (maybe) about to buy a TB2 - no box or paperwork.
I will do this in person and inspect the watch.

I would teally appreciate it if some of the old photos of telltale fake signs could be reposted somehow? Or is someone has some of these stashed? I’m sorry but this is an URGENT REQUEST for 1st Jan. I have some confidence in the seller but as always thoroughness is a cardinal rule... thanks in advance for any help. Jon
