I'll try the vault. It should since it's aluminum. Not sure about xmetal. Where would you want to engrave exactly?

I want to start by saying I haven't the slightest knowledge of lasers, machining tools of this sort, etc.

...but what if you could put some stripes of some sort on the x-metal, or an engraving on the stems or something. What happens if the laser goes off of the material intended to be engraved?

it may be able to stripe the xmetal.. ill have to try on something i have laying around thats x-metal.

One of the reasons I purchased this laser is to engrave electronic lids and such. here is my MacBook Pro I just finished. Figured it would be appropriate for this site.

Looks great Eddie! You should see if you can copy the awesome Oakley design etched into the iPad one of the members has around here. That was SICK. Also, I wonder if it can etch into iPhones with the Gorilla Glass on the back.

I sure can, it may take some editing of the logo to make it all connected as one piece... my size limit would be like 40" wide if i did it as one piece.. obviously if you wanted it letter by letter, it could be like 40" x 200". But that may be going a bit overboard? but seriously, i don't think you can go to overboard with Oakley.

Those both look awesome, I have decals just like those two, but would love to have one of each of those too. How much are you charging?

I really haven't thought hard about pricing. I did these from scratch material I had laying around. The Black X Metal is 7" long and i think id charge like 15.00 and for the larger Oakley Stretch (or if you wanted the old school logo) id charge like 30.00 But Ill need to take orders first so i can purchase the material. Acrylic gets pricy :-/. I can also cut out most any logo, so if you guys want something specific, like maybe the juliet logo or the eye jacket "J" let me know! Ill try to cut out a juliet logo tonight and post a pic.
