Currently looking into a Management position at an SGH, any input on the pros and cons here. worked for a vault part time and that was fantatsic. Also Wondering if SGH is just as benificial when it comes to upward movement towards working at the big O??
I'd say getting an understanding of working in the Sunglasses industry on any level would be a great way to get going.
My Local rep started as a sales person for an Optometrist, before moving to oakley.
You have to align yourself soemtimes to get there, being in SGH I would have to believe would give you more insight on how to get into Oakley than not being there, and being part of LUX hiring from within wouldn't be uncommon i'd think.
you have to know someone who knows when they are looking or look online for the job posting, I know there is an outside sales rep for the New york area at the moment....but not sure if that was filled.
Not sure if working at an SGH will help you. I have worked in the local O-store for the past two years and the way SGH opperates is bogus. The employees know very little about the product and dont have passion for the brand. They usually sell you the display and without a box As a recent college grad I too am looking to move into O-Corporate but like any job these days it's all about who you know and not what.
I wouldn't recomend SGH if anything find another retailer, where you might actually get serviced by the local rep. Since SGH are corporately owned you will not get any exposure to the rep. Who most likley has very little pull at the home office anyway lol
