Weight 36 grams. I bought the Rust Decay version heavily discounted from an outlet store in Melbourne. They, of course are no different to any polarized rust Fuel Cell, but are 3-6 times the price. They feel nice and tight on my big noggin (59 cm circumference head). The arms fold in nice and tight and the front part of the frame even has cutouts for the arms to fold into. It's a nice touch. There are no nose or arm pieces which means they're not as comfortable to wear. Eye coverage is excellent and because the arms are so wide, side light is not an issue at all. I didn't buy the Asian Fit version, so these will "rest" on some cheeks if you're Asian.

The rust decay finish is very nice. I was a little concerned that pieces may "flake off" and damage the lens if you're cleaning them, but this is not the case (at least not for the last 3 months I've had them). Every pair seems to be slightly different due to the variability in the rusting process.

Appearance wise, only aficionados will be able to spot the difference between "rust coloured" and "rust painted" sunglasses, but it is nice to have ownership of a (hopefully) unique pair of sunglasses. I suspect that the square rusted metal vault case they came in will outstrip the value of these glasses in time to come.

I got my Fuel Cell pre loved for about$75 last 23 April. I'm used to wearing my Monster Dog which I thought have wide lenses but when I got my Fuel Cell, they were even wider. I came to love my Fuel cell and I like the way they offer some protection to the periphery of your eyes.

To bad my 15 year old son also liked it very much so I only am able to wear them when my son's not using any glasses (which is very seldom).

These are probably the coolest looking artist series frames I have. Usually the fuel cell has the polished arms with the matte finish in the middle. These are the reverse! The artwork actually feels like they painted it themselves. It is rough and you can actually feel the lines. The artwork itself is beautiful. I love my London Police Gascan's, but the artwork on these blow those away!

On to the actual glasses themselves. The fit is absolutely terrible for Asian Faces. I have a Medium sized head, and it isn't that they look too big; the nose piece in the middle just doesn't close tightly enough and isn't jutting out like some other Asian fit glasses. That's the only reason I'm actually able to wear the normal Gascan's. The arm's are extremely comfortable. They wrap real nicely and don't put pressure like the Gascan's do. It's a real shame these don't fit correctly. It's a beautiful piece and to any collection. I'm surprised how easy these are to find still. Any collector should really grab them while they can!

Fuel Cell LIVESTRONG Edition.


I don't know why almost everybody says "lenses fog up" like they think its cool. I've never had any Oakley lens fog up no matter what I'm doing. Lenses do attract skin oil and is difficult to remove. Dust is also a small tedious problem. Left eye lens has "LIVESTRONG" engraved. Lenses are perfect for very bright days, but indoors or low light, these are darker than a ************. Frame is comfortable. I don't have a small head but not a large either, so there are some days where the fit can be tight around the ears. I'm thinking it could be from the frame pulling on my hair. Played golf in these and had no problems with them sliding down my nose. Definitely a great style if you don't want the curve appeal of the hijinx or need more space then the gascans.

I bought these at Melbourne Airport, and got a very good price. At the time I thought they were a better fit for me than Gascans, but after a couple a weeks and numerous photos, they are too big for me. Lovely glasses, really nice to be patriotic but subtle,but my head is a tad too small for these. You big headed people will be very impresses.
