Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Fire Polarized
I have 3 pairs of these right now, and I've owned several others. These fit great on medium to large heads. I can wear both Juliets and Romeos confortably, and these fit me very well. For another reference point, Minutes are too small for me and Straight Jackets are a bit too big. Awesome coverage and styling. The way lower part of the orbital leading to the earstem is shaped, gives these an aggressive look with or without a bright colorway. The unobtanium nosebombs are great when you know you'll be sweating and obsolutely cannot lose your sunglasses.
Crystal black is amazing in this frame, and I love the goldenrod icons. Fire polarized is a fantastic and versatile lens. This color combo in getting hard to find, and can also be found with non-polarized fire lenses
Frame: Jet Black +
Lens: Ruby +
I remember when the rep first showed me these, FMJ with Ice. I had them in my hands, I tried them on, I couldn't get over they o-matter frame with Unobtainium nose bombs. They were so nice. The rep didn't have a name to give me though. I had thought they were some new Jacket, or an evolution of the Minute. I do remember them having the XX stamp on the nose bridge though (the Minute was the only other pair I had seen with the logo stamp there at the time).
This was also the first time seeing Fire and Ice, but I was never a fan of the FMJ frames. I had gone with Emerald/Gold for my first pair. First day we had them in stock they were mine. Another throw back to the Fuel Eye jacket in my mind. I eventually went through wearing FMJ/Fire, Jet Black/Ruby, Midnight/24K, Jet Black/Ice and FMJ/Ice. I kept the Jet Black with Ruby. It was nice to get an affordable Ruby lens, and as I had said in my Juliet review, these two style are almost twins. I had actually imagined the XX being released as a Dark FMJ with Ruby to more mimic the Juliet from X-men. I heard it so many times "why are the Juliet's from X-men $400?" I would just recommend the Ruby Twenty.
A great frame. Not flimsy and not rigid. The thin ear stems were awesome and the square (tea cup) lens was a good fit. When you look at this as an upgrade from the Fives it was like Oakley had made major advancements. A Frogskins with Ear socks and Nose Bombs was un-thought-of, and to fit with a wrap like a Jacket was an excellent plus. In my opinion these are the greatest Oakley's made for their O-Matter frames.
Frame: Fmj 5.56
Lens: Ice
Although they're certainly frogskins, they look like a jacket, and they definitely fit like a jacket.Since I was unlucky enough to not be able to wear the minutes, due to their scaled down size,I found comfort in these.Nice coverage, nice fit, nice colorway. One thing I like in the xx is the matching color unobtainium parts. These and the fire/emerald model which I hope to find are my favourites out of all the xx line. And the fmj makes it all better as usual.I strongly believe that the xx is the frogskin equivalent to minutes, for those that couldn't wear them, with the exception of the different lens shape of course.
Frame: FMJ and Jet Black
Lens: Ice and Ruby
Bought both these pairs at the same time. They're both great. I don't wear the jet black with the ruby lenses that often because they're really crazy and need to be worn at the right time. The FMJ with Ice is much more my style, however I tend to sway more towards wearing my Hatchets more than the XXs...
Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium iridium polarized
These are good, and I mean really good!!!Incorporating the excellent bronze frame and the high end titanium iridium lenses, specially in the polarized version is something that you don't see from oakley very often. And that, alone, makes this pair very special. My biggest complaint with the past series of oakley was that the polarized versions were sort of left out.I mean, usually the non polarized models used to take all the great finishes, fmj etc,and the good colorways.Furthermore, the polarized versions were very limited compared to the overall volume of a model's colorways, and this can be specifically noticed with the minutes.Very few polarized models. However,in the case of the xx,we had some more, and this one is really great.I think it makes up for the lack of finishes on the other models.
The fit is good, but since I have some other editions of the xx,I noticed that they are somewhat loose on my head, compared to the rest.A batch problem perhaps?Certainly unexpected for a o-matter frame. The xx look is as always prevailing, and the bronze finish looks solid. The polarized titanium lenses can be used literally under any light circumstances, and in a strange way, they are brighter that their non polarized counterparts, something that is very unusual with the polarized lenses though. They certainly do quite a contrast with the bronze frame.THIS is the king of lenses!!!The perfect mirror effect.Simply a majestic pair of sunglasses, and I'm so glad I grabbed them as soon as I saw them.Grandeur!!!!!
