this thing is like a tardis, whether its a long weekend overseas or a 2 week break on the beach, this holds as much as i can force into it. well built, great looks, rugged. nice and smooth, plenty of handles, only thing missing in my opinion is double lockable zips on the outside compartments so you can really fill them tight and not worry about people helping themselves if it goes in the aircraft hold.
Image top notch. Practicality easily within 80/20 rule. Durability seems good - no airport baggage mishandlers have managed to leave a mark!
Easy to identify on the carousel, Little front bag is dissappointing.
Sometimes oversized as hand luggage (cheap routes)- but 80/20 ok.
Good value man bag.
Like its larger counterpart, this piece of luggage is very well designed. I believe this is still too big to be used as a carry on. There is a lot of room and like the larger bag, I'm a very big fan of the extra pack that can be detached on the front. It really helps when you want to be able to access things quickly. The wheels and the handle really add to how easily this luggae can be moved. Great design!
This piece of luggage is just what I needed. I'm an athlete and travel by plane about 10 times a year. It's small enough to carry-on but sturdy enough to check it. The wheels roll smooth, and can jump curbs. Zippers are very sturdy, they stayed shut packed out. A great addition to this piece of luggage is a TSA lock, you can never be too cautious nowadays.
I have used this bag on a regular basis now for about 9 months. It has been a very good bag and I use it on almost all my business trips. The only time I don't is on single day trips when my AP Sandbag will suffice. The case is very durable and has held up well. Granted, I have always used it as carry on and only had to check it in once on a flight. Still, a very durable bag that led me to get other Oakley luggage. Their stuff is reasonably priced I think and very durable as well as practical. Someone who designed this bag thought it up very well. The top is curved and that is great for overhear storage on some planes. Since the overhead bin is curved in the back, you put the case top first and it fits in perfectly! There is grab handle at the bottom between the wheels for you to pull it out of the bin. This is nice since it helps save space for others. More importantly you don't have people stuffing their jackets or small packs in front you case to dig through during deboarding. Unfortunately the detatchable bag is not so useful.
That bag stays at home full time having only used it once. The curved zipper track makes a pain to close and the storage space is limited and odd shaped. The case looks a lot plainer without is attached but I can live with it. I instead moved the D-rings to the higher position on the case. This way I can attach either my AP Pack or the Sandbag when walking through terminals. Both can fit on my shoulders but sometimes its nice to give the back a break.
Overall, I have to give the Rolling Bag a definite thumbs up. Just don't expect much use out of the attached bag. I always have loved Oakley sine the Blade for their cool designs that incorporated neat technnology. Their stuff reminds me of being designed by a person in who demands the best and uses the latest technology. That person also has a love for technical style and gadgetry. The problem sometimes with that is the coolness and gadgetry gets in the way of practicality. Since I am kind of like that, I can't really complain. Just keep it in mind when looking at Oakleys bags and luggage. They always seem to being trying new stuff out with each successive bag. So while it hurts from a compability standpoint if you have other AP stuff for example, it's nice to see that they aren't afraid to change something if it doesn't work.
i never ever have had such a versitile luggage carrier ! i love it , but not the AP rolling bag , but the LARGE AP ROLLING BAG.
the compartments are so big , you can easily go on a three or four week trip , and change your clothes every day !! also the storage of travelling papers etc, is easy , only flaw is the front backpack, once of the case , it is not "strappable" you have to hold it in your hands.
very solid grip, and bold wheels. this is value for money !
overall quality ; very durable materials , so excellent
After seeing one in the fleash I was so impressed I had to have one. But what of my warwagon - Sell it! The Ap Rolling bag is more compact and a whole lot more efficent. your not fighting your way through heaps of straps and buckles. It's very sturdy, solid zips and convienient pockets through out. It is a little to large for a carry on by about 5 cubic cm's, so I'm unsure If i'll use it flying if it must go a check in. Just when I'm driving. Overall a must have piece of Oakley Luggage - 100% for this piece.
Great improvement compared to the Warwagon. Addition side handle and bottom handle makes it more practical on top of the detachable AP pack. Metal O Icon makes it really nice.on the center. Side zip pocket for airline ticket is also a great addition. Best of all, they reinforced the handles with 2 pin like buttons. A must for collector
