Frame: Distressed Silver
Lens: Ice

Oakley recently introduced a new line of eyewear with a unique frame style: Jury. While the architecture of this pair incorporates metal and acrylic as well as newly-designed spring hinges, it falls a bit short.

Overall fit of this model is adequate, providing good coverage with minimal light leakage. Likewise, the spring hinges provide just enough flexibility to allow slight outward movement for "thicker" craniums. Some consumers, however, may not appreciate the "square" fit of this pair or the fact that the nosepiece - unlike any other ever incorporated by a previous Oakley sunglass - is comprised of "hard plastic". I cannot understand why Oakley didn't utilize something softer, such as unobtainium - especially considering the physical weight of the frames. This is the major fault with the glasses and could have easily been corrected.

A decent pair of shades overall, but with definite room for improvement.

Is there, available lense replacement for jury?

In two days of use, my opinion is that are very heavy and hurts my ears, i thought the O-luminion was more lighter, but the lenses are very big and the vision is perfect, very clear.

The O matter hinges are a unique feature that have a springy elastic function to grip the cranium if the unobtanium wasn't already enough. you can feel the squeeze sometimes but its never really enough for me to really care even with my large face. The nose support is also different from usual but it has unobtanium and it fits with the large lenses. Some reason the ice iridium coating can come off when cleaning. I only used the microbag lens cleaner that came with and it took off a spots worth of ice, about 2 weeks after I bought them. be careful when cleaning but otherwise awesome.

The frame has weight to it which is what I really like. The first pair I got was damaged because the head of a screw that connects the o-matter arm to the aluminum arm broke off so the frame was totally damaged.

I went back to SH and exchanged them for another one of the same color.

I would say the choice of screws used in this particular style is prone to break easily since the o-matter arms flexes and puts stress on the screws.

I will be replacing the stainless steel screws with titanium screws. I will also be making a mould of the o-matter arms with carbon fiber ones including the o-matter housings that are connected to the frame.

This is a very different square-o frame. I like the style of them a lot and the overall look is very unique, but the one thing I can not get over is how heavy these things are. I mean they are supposed to be made out of aluminum and they feel heavier than the oil rig frame. It just seems really strange because they don't look that heavy at all.

I am very happy with these, they have a nice, updated classic look...not crazy but absolutely Oakley. They are a bit heavier than you would guess, however, I liked the feeling, they are very comfortable. I would like to see Oakley keep these around and maybe expand the line.

Frame: Matte Black
Lens: OO Black Polarized

Lots of mixed feeling came pouring in on these in the first week of their release. Some in regards to the fit, others for or against the attempt of merging frame materials, and some to the bland any frame styling compared to more over the top Oakleys of the past. One of the best comments in regards to fit though came down to it either fits you or it doesn't, and in that case I agree. I am also past arguing about what it does or doesn't fit like because it's really going to depend on your head and face shape.

Personally they fit me well. It's a medium sized offering in the lifestyle line that tends to be comprised of somewhat oversized styles for my taste. The grip of the stems and width of the frame are fantastic. The nose however is on the wider side and requires them to sit higher up and closer to my face. I don't experience the sensation of my eyelashes hitting the lens, but the tops do get greasy from my brow. It makes me wish these were like most other higher end metal Oakleys with the interchangeable nosepieces for thick or thin noses. The screwed in o-matter nosepiece that these do have to me is the weakest element of the whole design. Even if that were interchangeable for size it would be an improvement.

As for the merging or O-Matter and Aluminum, I think it was well executed. Much smoother and less rigid that that of the Hatchet with the tiny spring hinge. I do still have my doubts as to whether the thin O-Matter temple that creates a spring hinge effect here will give out, but I guess we need to trust that Oakley ran this through the standard battery of QC tests. Otherwise its wait and see. It is well anchored to the Aluminum stem so no worries about the pieces separating otherwise. Thicker near the hinge and screw point, just thinner where it flexes.

All in all I am happy with the style, the simplicity of the styling as it's a lifestyle piece, and the merging of the materials. I just hope the Jury does well and isn't easily abandoned as previous Aluminum styles were because there is room for improvement and I would love to see this evolve.

Frame: Matte Black
Lens: 00 Black Polarized

Another great pair of glasses! Very solid frame for average size faces (slightly bigger than my Twitches, but smaller than my Eyepatch or Sideways). Frame is incredibly lightweight and the way the stems expand to fit the side of your head is cool. With unobtanium nose piece and on the stems, they do a great job of staying on your face. Glasses have a very "indestructible" feel to them -very solid. The matte black & black iridium is a great combination. I have only had them for a few days but they are very comfortable and I don't find myself having to "reset" them after wearing them for a while. Only drawback is the price, but definitely a nice addition to the collection. Check these out.
