A great lens to look at and display, but for me, not dark enough for everyday use. In extremely bright conditions, this lens does get overwhelmed. However, in medium bright conditions, this lens is excellent.
That being said, the "cool" factor of this lens CANNOT be understated. This is one of the coolest lenses that Oakley has put out there. It has a much more "mirror-like" look than the black iridium and has much more of a "wow" factor.
You do have to keep it clean, but, especially paired with a clear frame, it is great to look at.

Great lens to look at. Like a silver version of 24k. Light enough to wear at a decently lit club, or shift them up on your head to keep the "look at me factor". Basically a look getter, not really a performance lens.
Great to look at but not as great to look through. This lens isn't as sharp as black iridium, I find it a little hazy as well.
Badass Cop shade lens. Looks perfect in the Chrome Plantiff's. It will be nice to see this in other frames. Great for bright conditions.

RE:Toniclonic. It isnt the iridium coating that does that, but the mixture of chrome and iridium. I have the pair you mentioned and also the origional Clear/Chrome Iridium Oil Rigs (1st generation). Over the years of owning this lense, ive had that happen several times and it is always because the lense either fogs up in a spot for some reason if it is really cold outside or because the lense have some dust or oily resudue on them. In order to be able to see immaculately out of that lense, it has to be perfectly clean and kept up. I clean that specific lense about once a week and I baby it.

I bought these in the frost blue oil rigs and had to return them the next day. Like everybody has already said this lens is very cool to look at, but it definitely has its downside. The lens almost appears to make things hazy or cloudy and I would find myself squinting to see. It just seems that the Iridium coating on them is almost too powerful to allow even lightflow.
This is a super cool looking lens that has the best mirror effect I've ever seen. They are a total rock star color that gets a lot of attention, which I like. The base tint is a very nice medium that is great for Seattle weather. Dark enough for all but the brightest days, but light enough for overcast. In other words, perfect for up here. The lenses in my Inmates seem to be about the same transmission rate as +Red, but all grey instead of slightly blue.
Love this lens color, and really wish Oakley would do more with it.
I was stoked to get the lens in my Polished Clear Oil Rig, but the lens itself is just for looks. It has a much higher light transmission than what is claimed. On a bright day, looking through this lens is like looking through nothing at all. I would even prefer a bronze lens on a bright day over Chrome. It is the first lens color with which I have been disappointed. On the flip side, it is an extremely attractive lens. I find myself wearing this lens only when trying to attract attention.
Simply put, the mirror on these lenses is amazing!
I'd rate them a 5 but they're a lot more exciting to look AT than to look THROUGH. I know I'm comparing apples to oranges but I find myself constantly switching back to my VR-28 Black Iridium Polarized lenses, especially when driving. I'm biased toward polarization, so don't take my word for it. I'm sure these are perfectly fine.
For those who like neutral tints that don't distort color perception, this is the ULTIMATE iridium lens. Unlike Titanium with its bronze base tint, the grey base of Chrome Iridium doesn't make the world look hazy. Plus they're even more mirrored than Titanium. Colors come through as true as possible through sunglasses. The only real downside to this is that you don't get any additional contrast enhancement. The 12% light transmission is adequate in all but the brightest of bright conditions when you might want the darker Black Iridium. But because it's a little lighter, it works in a wider variety of conditions, even overcast (though if it's overcast, you may want the contrast of a Bronze or VR28 lens).
Although it is nothing special to look through, looking at Chrome Iridium is quite nice. It is almost like staring into a mirror due to its high reflectivity. Those who look at you while wearing a frame with this lens in it will certainly have a hard time seeing your eyes. Surprisingly though, this lens is usable in most light conditions making it a very versatile lens option. I highly recommend it and I look forward to the day when it is available in more styles.
