Frame: Red Tiger
Lens: Persimmon
No doubt these are Oakley glasses... no one else would be able to pull this off. As said in other reviews, these frames are huge. They look absolutely ridiculous on me. However, the one-piece, non-folding frame and bold styling are perfect examples of Oakley ingenuity.
The Red Tiger frame is unique and beautiful. It's too bad wild designs like this don't sell, making it unlikely that Oakley will make these ever again (except for athletes and other custom jobs). I think the frame looks better with Black Iridium lenses, but I could only find it with Persimmon. It doesn't look horrible, but the orange and red together don't quite work. Perhaps VR28 would have looked better.

Just got these. I must say out of these & the Jawbone / New Racing Jacket i much prefer the old ones when it comes to biking. That wrap round & shaping of the frame top & bottom allows them to sit closer to the face & the ports seam to work better than the vented lens in the Jawbone. All in all an excellent pair for a specific job.
Frame: Bangel/Black
Lens: Black Iridium
Was never quite sure whether these were real or not until I found this site. I picked them up on Ebay back in 2002 or so. I used to use them for cycling a bit until I got my M-frames. The Bangel color is bad ass when you come flying down a trail or road. They fit well with a helmet, and give good covereage against wind and light. Kind of a pain to store/cary because of the size and hingeless design, but a Pro M-Frame/Racing Jacket case does the job. Might have to bring these back out of retirement on those sunny days!
Frame: any
Lens: any
Plus: Excelent design and functional for sports. i like the new ones (smaller) with the vented lenses
Minus: two words=> two big
Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Gold Iridium
For some reason i had let the RJs slip under my radar for a number of years until i felt the need to get myself a pair. I found a pair for a good price and jumped. This was before i knew that there existed two generations of RJs and i got the first gen one. That maybe why they protected my eyes very good but also why they slipped down my nose during riding my roadbike and mountainbiking. A bit large yes but not uncomfortably so. The gold iridium is best suited for bright, sunny days or for use in snowy areas since it blocks light almost too good.
Unfortenately since they don´t fold up (which is good for fit) i got in the habit of stuffing them in my helmet-vents. Worked reasonably good on road-rides but much worse when mtb:ing. One rocky descent later and i reach for my glasses which hang on in my helmet... i think. Nope, gone. I remember riding through som areas where branches hung low but no matter how much i backtrack i couldn`t find them.
If you got `em, hold on to them and make sure you store them in a safer way than i did.
Frame: Bengal
Lens: Black Iridium
This color combination works much better than the Red Tiger/Persimmon. The Black Iridium complements the black tiger stripes perfectly. Racing Jackets have the most unique nosebombs in the Oakley line-up. Unlike the smooth Unobtainium pieces on other glasses, RJ nosebombs have an 'O' at the center that radiates out in ripples to the edges. Very distinctive.
Frame: Red Tiger
Lens: Black
One of my holy grails. I paid a pretty penny for these, but it was worth it. The Red Tiger is an insane frame color, and not one to be repeated any time soon. Grab these if you can.
Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Gold Iridium
Great for biking, running, driving, sleeping, eating, prety much anything. The Jet Black frame looks better with Black Iridium though.
Frame: Bengal
Lens: Black/Gold Iridium
Very Cool, priceless set of Oakley Jackets. As previously stated, first gen RJs are Gigantic, and I would have to say that is their only flaw. If you are a serious collector, you cannot do without the Bengal RJs.
Frame: Bengal
Lens: Black
These things are HUUUUGE...even on my big head. The fact that they are a one piece design make them a pain to transport or wear casually...combine that with the rarity of the Bengal and these are pretty much a display only piece for me....Having said that - the other Bengal variations are on the list for collection. This pair came out of Singapore.
LUSCIOUS -
Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Gold Iridium
My first pair ever. Saw Rodman in one of these back in 1997. Love the 1st generation... they fit a bit bigger than the new ones. Comfortably bigger. Versatile too; worn them snowboarding... worn them driving in the city, and with an easy switch of a lens to a vented one and a slash kit, you've got yourself a Water Jacket.
Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Gold
I always thought these were a great example of Oakley design. I'm thinking of getting rid of this pair and finding a second generation frame because these are just a touch to big for me. If anyone is interested in a trade, let me know! They are one of the most comfortable pairs I own.
Frame:Red Tiger
Lens:Persimmon/Black Iridium
My long awaited second pair of tiger Racing jackets, this awesome combo is red and black tiger stripes instead of the orange in the bengal frame, these are such great glasses and and offer alot of protection for the eyes because they are so big (bigger than Gen 2 racing jackets)
Frame: Black
Lens: Gold
I would give the Racing Jackets as a whole a strong 4 or 5 rating. But these Gen 1 RJs have one majore drawback: they are significantly larger than the RJs that followed. So while I have one pair of each, I always wear my 5.56 RJs over these, since they look much sleeker and less bulkier.
Frame: bengal
Lens: black
My wife always says "why do you wear those huge things"? And I think how many peoples sunglasses actually get noticed by everyone? Not many. But these do & I'm proud of them.
Frame: Bengal
Lens: Gold Iridium
These are soooo cool for when your riding your bike, super comfortable and a perfect fit so they wont fall off while your biking.
WARNING you will get stared at when your wearing these very cool RARE Oakleys.
Frame: Red Tiger
Lens: Black Iridium
if you don´t have a bike it´s probably not yours.
okay you can do what ever you want with these but i think it´s just the right pair for riding a bike....
the style is cool with the tiger design and the lenses are 0815 but it´s an eye-catcher if you wear it!
the fit is right for normal people and it´s covered the eyes pretty well.
and the style is a must have for collectors :o)
