Hi there! I have a pair of the first generation E-Wires that I bought soon after they got out, I can't even remember when that was, it's so long ago. However, they are still in great shape. Also, when I got them I put prescription lenses in them to use them for cycling and my vision has not decreased since then, so I hope to keep using them for a long time to come :)

Only problem is the Earsocks are in really bad shape. I have been looking around on the web but all I can find are E-Wire 2.0 Earsocks and nose-thingies. Does anybody know if those would fit my 1.0? If not, anyone knows where I could find the right ones?

Many thanks

Lars

They will fit. I sent my T-Wires 1.0 for a tune-up back in the mid-90s and they replaced the earsocks with the 2.0 earsocks.

Did you try calling Oakley Customer Service? Since they did the re-issue last year, they might have them available.

no, but I am based in Spain, asked at the local Oakley retailer who did not find anything in their computer, so thought they'd probably be out of production. But the 2.0 are available on Amazon, so if those fits that's perfect for me.

Note, the 2.0 earsocks may fit, but they are tubular (like the A wire socks), whereas the Gen.1 socks are triangular in cross section.

Yes, that is correct. The 2.0 Earsocks have a different shape and are slightly thinner but they fit on the frame, it's a bit of a compromise but works for me.

Did you already get a set?
I might still have a couple of sets laying around. Just let me know, then I can have a look for you somewhere today/ tonight.
