I had my first pair of Oakley shades two years ago. I bought the Oakley Twenty Ice Iridium (Blue) lens model. I really love to wear them because they perfectly fit my head; they are very light and efficiently captures the sunlight to protect my eyes. I wear them most of the times especially during travels and field work. I was not contented with my first pair and so I bought an Oakley Juliet Ruby Red. I really love this pair because they look so elegant and "cool." However, they have some visible scratch on both lens right now and I plan to replace them but only for the same type of lens. My addiction did not stop when I went to Japan for study. My last purchase was an Oakley overthetop through ebay. They look wierd but very "cool" and "futuristic." I love wearing these glasses because I feel the "world revolves around my head." They would really catch the attention of many passerby. My addiction continues... OAKLEY rules!!!

Thanks OluvrNawlins for the pics.... Guys, which is then more expensive, to coat it or buy a new one? Or change it to other lenses, e.g. fire iridium. Here in Japan it cost 12,600 yen or 100+ for the coating. Do you have idea how much is the a ruby red lens or fire iridium replacement lens?

I also never thought that iridium coating is possible. I was thinking of replacing my lens but it no replacement is available. But I learned this from Oakley Japan. Does anybody from Oakley USA or any dealer from this group who knows about this ruby red iridium coating technology?

I own an oakley juliet ruby red lens. Unfortunately, the lens have visible scratches. I contacted the Oakly Japan if they have replacement lens available. I found out that they no longer replace lens, instead they could repair the lens. But their stock of ruby red coating is not so red but the iridium is more yellow. The cost is 12,600 yen inclusive of tax. I would like to seek your advice if it practical to have my lens coated or just buy a new lens maybe change it to fire iridium. I trust the wisdom of our oakley godfathers to give me some advice.
