Thomas, something like that is exactly what I had in mind when I began looking. What's it called? If I can't find a medicine cabinet, maybe I should look for that as well.
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. I managed to google pics of the medicine cabinet, and I LOVE it. It's quite a bit bigger then I hoped, but I was quickly able to sell myself on having a door with a lock. I like the idea that items won't be knocked off the shelf by visitors.

Now, where on earth am I going to find one.

I have my case in the basement with all of my frames in it, but would like something small and convenient to have in my doorway. I think it needs to be mounted to the wall, and I would like to have room for between 1-3 frames on it.

I'm trying to get my wife on board with a "don't-leave-your-shit-piled-on-every-flat-surface-in-the-entire-house" rule, and I think I have to abide by it in order for it to work.

Since I store them downstairs, and don't like leaving them laying around, I find that I frequently leave the house not wearing any glasses. This makes me feel incredibly stupid since there are 55 pairs in the basement. Can anyone share something they have purchased that would work? My entranceway isn't all that big, and I wouldn't like it to stick out too far. I would really like it to be an Oakley item that isn't impossible to find. Also, hopefully it's not eleventy thousand dollars.
Thanks.

The O store in fashion show mall in Las Vegas was the same for me. The guy had no clue what the artist series was. The entire series. I asked if they had anything and he didn't know what they were. He then apologized, but claimed it was because he just transferred from the vault store at the outlets.

Wow, that's awesome. I wish there were guys like you on the car and camera forums I'm on as well. :)

Thanks Dann,
I wish it wasn't so difficult to view the American site.

As you can imagine, the "oakley.com update" thread is like torture as well.

I just have to mention, that whenever you guys link to the oakley USA website, we Canadians can't view the items. Your site redirects us to the Canadian homepage.

They go through phases where they will allow us to view your site, and then they change it again.

So please, whenever you can, include pics or links to sites that don't redirect. Especially when you say "man, are these ever dope" like they're the best sunglasses in the whole world, and my heart breaks that I can't view them.

That is all.

I still haven't taken stepped to the dark side. Not to either a self custom or factory custom pair just yet. I frequently build frames on the custom part of the website and enjoy seeing the possibilities, but then I'll open ebay and try to find a cool disco'd stock pair and buy that instead.

I can see myself eventually ordering a custom pair from the site, but I am still undetermined if I'll be popping the lenses out of my own. I especially won't be modding any of the limited pieces that I own like the artist's or clear rigs.

This is one section that my collection completely lacks. I have everything is a generic display case. It certainly does the trick, and I got it for free. But that reason in itself makes it harder to justify some of the prices that people try to charge for their towers.
It's especially tough trying to find anything near my region.

That's strange. That tech company is from Winnipeg and I haven't heard of them before.

If you have dreams about a certain colourway (crystal clear hijinx with fire iridium and red icons), wake up and try to search for them online, and be upset because they don't exist.

I never paid attention to the stretchline monte's until this thread. Now I can see that it's gonna cost me a few hundred dollars. They're putting the "PIMP" in "Straightupbadass!"
Figure that one out.

Ya, the 300 has the balls to focus quickly even with that extender on.
It doesn't work nearly as well with the 70-200 and is very frusterating. Sometimes I'll use it, and sometimes I'll decide that I'd rather just get a nice clean shot and crop a little more. For certain things, it's a necessary evil.

The 70-200 f4 has fantastic image quality. In fact, most reviews will say that it is every bit as good as the 2.8 at f4 and higher.

The track in Beausejour is a 1/2 mile oval track and is said to be one of the best/safest tracks on the circuit. The sleds reach around 104-106mph during racing.

Here are a few shots I took today at the practice session today. It was lots of fun shooting the sleds. I highly recommend checking them out this weekend. Just be careful on the highways.
All shots with 1dmk3 and 300mm 2.8 is. The shot from the outside has a 1.4 extender on that same lens.

Well, given that I can't purchase every pair I try on, there have been some that just simply "got away."

These are frames that while trying on, decided I wanted to buy at a later date. Then, either had trouble finding, or trouble finding for a reasonable price.

Most recent ones that comes to mind is red shift hijinx and ducati square wires. Also, the grape/grey stretchline gascans for my girlfriend. I know these aren't the most obscure, hense why at the time, I didn't think twice about waiting.

Also, I remember seeing OTT's and Medusa's in stores back in the day (and honestly thought they were more ridiculous then cool, and now I want.)

What have you come across in stores, and just couldn't do it at the time? Or maybe even passed on an ebay auction for something, and just figured; "hey, another one will come around for the same price."

Ya, it was with my mk3 and 70-200. Thanks for the kind words.
It was an interesting sequence of shots. I have some where he makes it through the smoke, but I really liked how it added to the drama of the photo. I hope none of you have to go through a house fire, but I also hope that all of you interested in photography have the chance to shoot one. There are a MILLION wicked photo opportunities. Just be careful to avoid the smoke. I wasn't feeling well the next day.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm trying to learn some better off camera flash techniques, and shooting glasses make for some fun subject matter. Especially since it's still -24c (with the wind) and I can do this in my basement. :).

I meant rechargeable for the transmitter itself which is a 2cr5. Well, I guess there is, but not from any of the big companies it seems.

For my flashes, I have a couple sets of rechargeable 2500mAh energizers. They're fantastic. I wouldn't get less powerful then that for flashes.

I haven't had any problems with the transmitter at all. I have a 580exII and a 430ex for my 1dmk3. It works very well. It's nice being able to change lighting ratios without having to run around and do manual changes.
My goal is to become a press photographer, and I've spent much of the last year doing "ridealongs" with 3 of the local guys. The st-e2 is standard equipment for them. Used every day, and with every potrait that they shoot.
For the circumstances that they're in, they have to be reliable.
The only crappy part is how there isn't a rechargeable battery that size.

Woody, I'll pm you about a store that I have a bit of a special relationship with. He's having trouble getting limited frames, but for everything else, I get wicked prices on. I think it may be better then CSS.

Rick, I spent a good chunk of my girlfriend trying to convince her that we should move to Hong Kong. She was born there and has dual citizeship, but she's also in the middle of her masters here. She doesn't see it as a potential move forwards, where I'm perfectly content with just having some fun. Oh well.
