Used it all the time on lacrosse sticks. You have to use very hot / boiling water to dye.

Of my stuff:

I could see the numbered industrial frames having a practical usage if used in a legitimate "industrial" setting: you can document every pair of safety glasses as far as purchase date and things like that. If you're using the frame as real eye-pro in a manufacturing or construction setting, having individually numbered frames and their history might actually be useful for an employer if something "unfortunate" happens.

a lens color: VR28 Black/Blue Polar...

I'd never liked this lens, but once I started wearing Costa's for sailing, I realized how much I liked the Vermilion tint. I'll still wear the Costa's for hard wear environs (not easy to wipe salt crust off Iridium lenses), but my next pair will probably be a VR28 NanoWire.

with the Minute 2.0, you'd think the designers would go AWAY from their previous failed Minute-replacement (the Unknown)...

apparently not...

Hey Bill, the store in Orlando isn't a Vault. But they did open a store in the airport, which is kinda cool. Oh, and the Florida mall has a Sporting-Eyes in addition to the O-Store.

Also check out Quiet Flight at Universal Studios City Walk. They're one of the largest private accounts in the world from what I've heard (great selection every time I've gone in). The Sunglass Icon at Downtown Disney hasn't impressed the last few times though...

Unless you're spending a large chunk of time out on the water, the polarized lenses aren't going to make a big difference. Since most people need you to explain the difference, and wouldn't now if you didn't say anything...

I'd find a style that fits her face and looks hot. I personally love the Tort/Blue Script (great when a girl's got a nice summer tan to set off the blue).

Rickster, maybe it's just a Japanese-translation thing? Or did you acquire it from Europe?

There's a Vault about an hour from where I live, and another one an hour from the 'rents in Miami. Then there are the 6 O-Stores in the state...

"Premium Dealers" have to have accounts of a certain monetary value. I'm not sure what the threshold is, but someone might. Most stores that only carry eyewear CAN order you any apparel you want if you have an SKU, but they might not have the SKU in their internal POS systems, so they might avoid it (my store would only do it for employees or "special" customers).

It is a bit lame, but I'd be more concerned about the box if I actually carried it around with me rather than keeping it stored with all the others...

Just picked up 2 sig pairs from my source back in Gainesville. A Chantry and a DC9. The DC9 pair may be one of my all-time favs. The camo frame ("Black Camo" on the box), the vented logo, the splatter-skull etching. If only they went with a mirrored lens (VR28 black would've been cool). And it comes with the brown stripey box.

AFAIK, the "hydrophobic kit" is not the same and should not be confused with the new hydrophobic lenses. The stuff that came with the Water Jacket is very similar in use to RainX, rather than the "baked on" coating on the new lenses.

I've actually tried this with Fire Flak Jacket lenses and it works. I haven't got a pair of crap lenses on-hand to try and screw up, but this demonstration is real.

It's possible, but the two Vaults in FL, the only ones I've been to, seem to carry more sandals than anything else, footwear wise. I'd get on the phone and call a few closest to you... they'll usually ship stuff.

I tried the Holeshot the other day. Pretty nice, and the Vanilla-scented strap is pretty cool.

I'd imagine they're anodized with that color. It's tougher than paint (my Rx frame is painted, and the coating is really soft).

not until I find out more about its durability. I've had at least 4 iPods die on me, and I'm pretty careful with them. I expect my cellphone to be durable. Plus, I've got a smartphone and I never use the connectivity (gmail doesn't have imap)
