Hey everyone,
I know that Oakley used to offer a service (for a fee) to refurbish Juliets, basically to tighten the flex couplers and the hinges. Since Oakley warranty service has now been shifted to Lux, and I am unwilling to trust sending my glasses to them, does anyone know of an aftermarket service to do that? I have two pairs that I'd like to get done. They're not broken, they're actually my every day wear, they just could use some tightening.
Thanks!

I have an Oakley license plate I won at an Oakley event at VUTT. I believe the local rep had them produced for a few customers, and I haven't seen another one. - Type O Positive

How long before Lux decides to close the Oakley stores and only sell through their own shops...? - pastor.elfstrom
I would suspect this might happen if they get out of AFA products... at that point they would just sell eyewear, and then be a location in competition with SGH (which often have 2, if not 3 locations in some malls) & APEX (which are starting to pop-up at more mall locations. I've also seen SunglassIcon showing up in malls too... - H01B3RG
Looking at the almighty $/ft2 math... Considering the square footage of O Stores, and Vaults almost even more so, with the publicized decision to dial AFA way back, I don't see how they'll be economically viable or relevant to LUX's business model for too much longer...

I'd imagine he will have to start from square one. I doubt that Lux would be willing to license the lens technology (especially after a statement like that), and they would probably consider the industrial style design language intellectual property, so I don't think he'll be able to pick up where he left off design-wise.
That being said, JJ is a design genius, and I have no doubt that he can and will come up with new mind blowing stuff, we all just have to wait and see...I for one can't wait to see what he comes up with!

Dann, exactly my point.
Oak, Snow Jacket would've been a perfect name...

Lol defender, I though that summed it up nicely!
Here's the thing, I worked for Oakley for over 4 1/2 years, and in that time I can't tell you how many times I had people ask me when they would make a good pair of riding glasses (motorcycle, not bicycle), and there was never anything that fit the bill. Then the Wind Jacket came out, and it felt like the Oakley gods had finally smiled upon all of us that ride. Then they were discontinued after what, a couple years, at most? Now there's no way to get lenses, and I've stockpiled a few extra gaskets and nose pieces because I know it won't be long before those are gone too.
Then I hear that there's a Wind Jacket 2.0 coming, and I got excited, right up until I saw them. They aren't even glasses, they're goggles. It's just another re-hash of a vintage design with a slight twist, which has been Oakley's M.O. for the last 6 years, IMHO.
Okay, rant over!

I love the original Wind Jacket. As for this one...

Yep, that's the one, thanks Oak! I love the look of it. I wonder if it was/is intended to part of a new line. "Ballistic Series" seems to indicate more than one item...
And if that's the packaging, it might not be a $300 item!

Were you referring to the metal works money clips? - HED4JC
No, there were pics here awhile back of one the was very Juliet inspired, with the bolts at the corners. It never seemed to pop up for sale though.

Did anything ever materialize of the X-Metal money clip that showed up in pics late last year?

As I understand it, there are two "generations" of the IH coin. The first gen, which is the globe, was offered both with and without the colored enamel. The one without the color was sold at O Stores and Vaults, while the one that had the color came with the IH Juliet and was available from IH with a $100 donation. The second gen is the current one with the flag. A big difference, as previously mentioned, is that the first gen coin had an Icon on it, while the second gen doesn't have any Oakley symbols on it, aside from the IH shield itself.
As far as the five core values, I'd like to know the answer to that as well!

I found out there is a CF LE Money clip coming out during this period, not told about production qty. They will be numbered too. Haven't seen a picture. - Type O Positive
That definitely interests me! Any word on the X-Metal money clip we saw pics of a few months back?

Is there any chance that you'd be willing to just sell the decals for it? I was more than a bit of a model builder back in the day, and I'd love to do one of these myself if I could get the scale decals!!

Well, if they're bringing back Fingerprint (not the first vintage frame option I'd have thought of), maybe there's hope to see a new Cobalt frame (fingers crossed)?

I'm kinda disappointed that Oakley didn't continue with the coins coming with the X-Metal line. I thought that added a nice touch.
