Wondering if anyone has tried these. Dunno if it's just hype and marketing or if they are really a decent product.

Been seeing them on SAC lately for really good prices. Thought I'd ask before I pulled the trigger.

I actually have a pair of Skullcandy earbuds. And these aren't one of the $100+ pairs or anything. Just one of their basic $20 pairs - Smokin' Buds, I believe it's called. It has to have by far the best sound quality I've experienced in an earbud. Just to give it perspective, I use them for my iPhone. Using the standard, out of the box Apple earbuds were decent enough. But once I tried the Skullcandy set, it was a world of difference. One of my friends has one of their $80 models - Full Metal Jacket - and absolutely swears by them.

Keep in mind I have not used their headphones, but I would assume that they have the potential to be even better.

I too have the Skullcandy earbuds. The model is called "ink'd". I really like them and their only 15-20 bucks @ TARGET. They come with extra rubber ear pieces for different size ears which make them super comfortable for long listening sessions. Apple earbuds kill my ears!!! I highly recommend them bro. Peace

if you buy the full metal jackets from overstock.com or SAC, make sure they are the 11mm drivers. I bought them not knowing there were 2 and the bottom end is quite a bit lower. I have Sennheiser CX-300 earbuds and I don't care what anyone says, nothing I have tried to date even comes close. The warranty on the skullcandy is hands down better. I have had my Sennheisers for 5 years without fail or issue. I don't like the goofy asymmetrical cord being shorter on the left than right for the CX-300, but whatever I guess. That was what led me to try to SC and for what you pay, you won't get a better bang for your buck, but step up and you will see a difference.

This hurts me so bad. :(

SkullCandy are not good headphones. They are to headphones what spy is to sunglasses.

Yes, they are better than stock apple earbuds, but if at all possible, pick up a nice pair of headphones. It will make a world of difference to your audio enjoyment.

Right now I switch back and forth between Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10vi and Sennheiser IE8's , before this I was using Shure's 300 and 400 series.

A great place to check out info is head-fi.org. Bong is a member there too!

For $300? Yea no.
Maybe if I were doing audio work or directly dealing with the audio industry. But as it stands, the only time I've ever used headsets/earbuds are when traveling in airports or on a plane. I honestly cannot remember any other time I've used them in the last...oh, ten years? And I do not travel enough for that to be a valid purchase for me.

I'll stick with my Skullcandy. But thanks for the suggestion.

for sure the SC is a great bang for your buck when you determine your needs. If you are an audiophile, then go with the companies like Ultimate Ears, although now owned by Logitech, Shure, and Sennheiser. That is what they do. Stay as far away from BLOSE...I mean Bose, because, well, Bose sucks. Sure, if you drink the kool-aid, then you will be all hyped up for Bose, but you can get way better for your money. Sennheiser has been AWESOME to say the least for a $70 pair of ear buds. I have contemplated the Ulitmate Ears for a while, but I only listen at the gym or when cutting the yard. No need for $200-$400 earbuds for that purpose. Hence why I have given the SC to my son, and kept the Sennheiser for me. If you are constantly eating up earbuds, tearing up cords, or whatever, the SC will do wonders for your budget since they have a lifetime warranty and will save your $"X" per pair for that reason alone.

The ultimate ears triple fi 10vi's can be found for around $150 new now (there was a huge sale just before last christmas, for about $100, so they're still hitting ebay for inflated prices from that)

There are also many options available at the sub $50 market that are leaps and bounds better than skull candy. Seriously. The JVC aircushions (I think that's what they're called) are amazing for the price (I think they can be found for around the $20 mark)

It just pains me to see a group of people here, that obviously can recognize quality with optics, but will then sacrifice audio. It doesn't have to cost tons. Just do the research. Check out head-fi.org. Make your ears happy like your eyes. :)

Just got a replacement pair of the SC FMJ 11mm driver headphones...SAC $27. Actually not bad at all. Blow the 9mm version out of the water period. I like them much more than the 9mm ever will. Now if my son will stop bogarting my earbuds I can keep a pair...Still like my Sennheiser better, but for 2/3 less money, and a lifetime warranty I won't bitch one word

If you want something that will sound good under 100$ get the Klipsch S4! If you have 300$ to spare get the Westone 3. I have a triplefi and the westone 3s blow them away.

JH is also something you might want to check out.

Westone = Old Shure
JH = New Ultimate ears
