I'm finally ready to get my first tattoo. Since I'm a wimp I want to get one that combines my two loves; Oakleys and Battlestar Galactica. I have an idea what I want but since I'm not even remotely artistic I'm hoping some of you who are can help.

I want to get a scatter skull logo (either profile or full on) but with the distinctive red Cylon eyes. Ideally I'd like something like the Mesh Skatter skull decal with the red eyes seen in profile.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you're a wimp, you won't be sitting through the MESH skull. By the time your artist is done with the blood lines alone most people would be ready to take a break.

I'm off to work...I'll see if I get time to do this there.

Mesh skull will be difficult since the thin lines will bleed over time and it will look muddy after a few years. Might work best with the scatter skull or profile skull.

Can't help much with the design aspect. But from what I've recently discovered with o tattoos on the pilot contest, just please don't put the tattoo on your lower back! yuk

I think Dann has once again proved that he is the man! My artist might have to tweak it a little bit but that is definitely going to be my tattoo.

Thanks for your help and Dann, if you want to incorporate your signature into that somehow I would me more than happy to get that inked as well.

David and Paul, thanks for the advice too. I originally wanted a collar bone tattoo but was told by my friends and families with tats I could never handle that. As it is my Mom (who has one) has already offered to pay for it as long as she gets to be there and videotape it.

Any skin that is closer to the bone will be worse. That much black might be annoying since they'll have to repeat over a few times to get the black to stay. Consider the size and putting it in a 'meaty' area.

just take a block to bite down on and a support group...It only hurts as long as they are working on you! You way need a sweat rag too! HAHA....Just kidding man, my artist has a PS3 and flat screen in his room so it takes your mind off things...

I'm usually fine during the procedure, but last time I went into mild shock afterwards. Couldn't stop shaking as I drove home.

For placement I'm thinking shoulder and I might go gray instead of black to cut down on the needle time.

Ah yes...and he filled in that gap that opens the nasal passage into the eye cavities! I did one without doing that and it was retarded!
