Since the winter is here for many of us it's time to think about the right protection of the cold and moisture. Although I'm not a snowboard rider considering to buy my first Oakley winterjacket, but I'm quite not familiar with this topic. So I ask for your help, guys which apparel to choose.
I hope I'm not the only one who will find this discussion helpful.

Well, how cold does it get where you live? What DO you do in the winter?

I have a Link Jacket, which is a Nitro Fuel snowboard(/ski) Jacket. I have not been able to use it in really cold conditions, but it will keep you warm, with no moisture, and this kind of technical gear is very lightweight. I just wore a Salomon (sorry -_- ) polar fleece under and never felt cold.

You can see the Jacket I'm talking about in my collection

It can be below 0°F, but it's not that common. Usually I just want to reach from A to B, so not a big deal. But I like it warm. :)
Does it make sense to buy a more expensive Nitro Fuel jacket rather than a Road or Hydro Fuel?

I tested some Oakley Jackets before I bought a The North Face Jacket, because the quality of them was much better, for the same price.

Now Iam walking around with an Arc'teryx Theta AR. Personally tested till 40°F, only one shirt under them and still warm.

*Sorry for OT*

Today I bought a nice vest (if not mistaken, it's called "Part"), which had a tag "Component Compatible". I was wondering if this could be fitten into a technical jacket. Can you fellas confirm this theory?
