I have an LSU turn down. I would guess in this case they would make a concept batch of collegiate glasses and send reps out with them to solicit the major schools.

In your case, it is going to be more personal. Yours is probably the result of an atheletes concept with Oakleys tech and design capabilities. Not unlike us going shopping and finding something we think will look good in our house, but realize that 16th century french doesn't work well with stainless and glass.

The athelete thinks one thing, Oakley tells him another and reality exposes the truth. The truth makes the glasses available to you, because the onus is on Oakley to secure the contract. They go back to the drawing board. This time with Oakley having a little more input in design and color.

Just a guess.

Yea thats pritty much it archer. Athlete has Idea, Oakley helps him put it together. If it looks stupid and Oakley thinks they cant sell it the just give it to the athlete (hence all the weird one offs you see athletes with some times) if it looks cool and they think they can sell it tada you get a signature piece. Some athletes are more involved than others. From what I have heard Ichiro really likes being involved. Some times signature peaces are just what an athlete likes to wear not really custom at all like Bruce Irons really likes the black hijinks hence that being his signature piece. And the some others are just put together by sports marketing (but more times than not those are one offs that don't get produced.)

At least that is how the process has been explained to me.

So does this mean we can blame Ichiro?

I don't think that blame is a good word, I think we should thank Ichiro for bring out a new J style. He could have picked the new x metal and then we would have no new J combo.

Yeah, but the 24k would have been so beautiful!

would you actually wear the 24k? It is a cool display piece but I personally think it looks down right tacky when worn(XX) unless you wear a lot of gold clothing, and I don't do that for sure. This new combo will be a nice addition and is better than the wbc version for sure.

But we would have a new x-metal.

Thinking about it, he is wearing a 24k Juliet in those pics. TiO2 Juliets don't have hammer stems. What gives?

That is not true. I wear them with a cream linen suit, a brown leather jacket or even khakis. 24k frames will go with anything that is brown, cream or off white or yellow. Basically, anything in that tonal palette.

Maybe these will have hammerstems like the XX, it is a lot more universal than the gold was the point that I making. I can't wait to get them in.

I would wear them in a second!
I think that the XX Metal version is the best looking XMetal ever made.

I love the 24k, but I don't wear em often because they look too flashy for me. And I prefer the Juliet Tio2 over the TiO2 XMXX (also too flashy the 2-tone). But they look soo nice in the vitrine.
