Have it as my avatar wondering if anyone had the full size image? Thinking about it as new tatoo possibly. I searched but only came up with dead links. Thanks.

I like the fact that it subtly gives props to the O. I do like the Oakley tats I've seen here, but yours is clever in that most people would have no idea what it's under-lying meaning is unless they're a fanatic.

I have to agree...I wanted something that people in the "know" would recognize.

The squid tat has a double meaning for me...

In the late 90's I was wearing my O shades (eye jackets if I remeber right) and conducting squid research in Woods Hole. The research focused on the squids ability to view light in the polarized range. At the time everyone thought that the squid's ability to see in this range helped them navigate, much like bees use polarized light and the sun's position. However, it turns out that when squid are present fish school and the scales of the fish school polarize the light in the water making it much more difficult to pick out individual targets...unless you can see polarized light. So for squid polarized vision is mostly about selecting and catching prey.

No idea actually, it took me ages to even notice it was gone. I was upstairs one day, looked over the railing and thought, hey, there used to be a 20 foot metal squid there... I'm bloody useless sometimes!
