different strokes for different folks... to say everything Oakley makes besides glasses is crap is a very ignorant statement. you may not like it but that doesn't mean it's all crap. granted, Oakley isn't perfect (no company ever is) but they do make some great things besides sunglasses.

the other statement of anything other than automatic watches are crap is also ignorant. like Defender says, quartz watches offer much better accuracy, and some people value function over substance. i would hesitate to call them "toys" or "clownish."

then there's the fact that Oakley watches (or most of their products for that matter) look like no other. we all have emotional ties to items that each individual person sees as aesthetically pleasing. it's that intangible feeling that draws me to Oakley watches and most of their products, something other high end watches have failed to deliver for me personally.

Also, being a watch collector I must chime in. The most relaible, most accurate watches are quartz. They are also the cheapest. I own several high watches including: TAG-Heuer, Zeno, Oris, and Omega watches and I have to say the the best most reilible watch I ever had was a Timex Ironman. GO FIGER!! Most of the time all a quartz watch needs is a battery every 5 year or so. A automatic complication needs to be overhaul one every 3-4 years at anywhere from $400-$800 depending on what is needed. Auto-complications also tend to loose about 1-5min a month usless it is COSC certified, those watches tend to loose about a min a month, but are also much more expensive.

I don't collect Oakley watches for their highend-ness(if that is a word). I collect them for Oakley. The movements are good and solid, the styling is pure Oakley. But, they are no Oris's. But they are cool. They are starting to get the attention from watch collectors too.

The other thing I have notice about highend expensive Automatics or quartz watches for the matter, is that they are really expensive to clean and repair. It just cost me $600 to overhaul my Oris TT1. It don't think Oakley's will be that much to overhaul.

I also own several "high-end watches", specifically a stainless Rolex GMT, a two-toned Rolex Submariner, a Maurice Lacroix Flyback Masterpiece and a Panerai PAM220. That said, I own 8 Oakley watches and I enjoy wearing them more than the others. My TT has garnered more questions/observations/compliments than the other watches combined. I wish now I had the money back that I spent on the "high-end" watches and could buy more Oakley watches. I'll bet a lot of people on this forum feel the same way....

Keystone - Sorry that this thread has been hijacked. Maybe these posts can be cut out and pasted into a watch topic or something.

lol! this thread is about to get locked I can feel it :-D But before it does, lets go back to arguing about glasses again. haha! Ok, I'll start it. In my opinion, no matter Keystone uses non Oakley lenses, I pick just certain color combinations for my little collection, get it done and display it. As far as the optics being right or wrong, I decide that by putting trying the pair on. You will know right away if something is off (like when u get a headache or get dizzy). And if it doesnt give me any discomfort, then to me, thats good enough to be worn. OAKLEY FOREVER!!! lol!

Great! I will get working on taking lenses from my N i k e eyewear, have them trimmed down, and desecrate my Juliet frames with non-Oakley optics! Awesome! Glad most of us agree that it doesn't "really" matter if it's Oakley - especially on the o-review! :-) Long live the O !!!

Sorry guys, Neopolitan all the way. But yes, please, we want to keep things civil. Though debate can be a good thing we don't want it to get out of hand. We all have our opinions and some times it's better to keep them to yourselves or at least to be polite about it if that's the case. But, we want you to share as well. Everyone here is going to have a different take and that's just the way it is.

fucking hell, i just skipped to the bottom to reply, my dad this, he said she said, cartier, omega, who gives a fuck, have you heard yourselves??

I like oakley because I like it, not cos it's better than anything or cos other people like it, if i'm gonna customise it, i'll do it for my benefit, no one elses.

if we're gonna be picky, put this thread in the off topic section, if we're gonna slag off oakley, fuck off and don't come back with your bullshit!!

jeez
