arhh luiz already did my idea... your 2nd...
well since keystone wants in conservative,i just played with fonts;

more to come
ohi just noticed ticks idea.. now mine almost looks like direct ripoff.

as you can see, just like ticks and luiz reasoning, the x has to stand out. however i feel it needs to be a solid colour. the choice is yours what colour u want it, but basic solid red grabs attention.

looks like metal gear solid logo innit? close enuff

id suggest clean-cut font type, since ur doing lens cutting. subtlely implying you do clean cut work and smart lookin

Thank you guys. Keep them coming. I was expecting some from Dorian, Chester, & Josh. U guys have anything cooking? Also, judges, if you don't want to post your opinion to not offend anyone, you can PM me with your opinion. I'll end up making the executive decision, but every voice counts.

man, i am so desperate for that juliet ichiro.. no means of me to get it here in malaysia. kinda unfair if i list all fonts eh?

id suggest clean-cut font, BOLD, red 'X' in the middle. its simple but eye-catching. international brands like toyota/ honda/ mercedes/ ford, their 'word' logo is quite simple. its easy to recognise. Panasonic on the other hand is not conservative as you'd asked for. Still im adding the others as alternative since its up to you.

also notice that the mXm almost creates an illusionary eye border. so this is the way to go since this subliminally directs to your doing eyewear. its up to you if you want it more horizontal/vertical width or less.

that is to illustrate the 'X' shouldnt be too OTT or it might look ridiculous and unprofessional. just slightly bigger than the rest

as you can see, i tried to play around with the 'x' at the center, make it slightly sharper with some of em, so that you can have an idea.

aww no i was afraid thats gonna happen.
as ridiculous as it sounds, the first few batch i did, i posted up even before i saw ticks design.
i saw luiz version coz it was viewable just from the thread. i didnt click ticks pic (it was small to see, had to click on later on). yeah unbelievable..
arhh doesnt matter, i claim its still my idea. take luizs 2nd for example. u take ticks idea and put a line top n bottom. improvising and it becomes a new logo. i put in the colour, the extra spacing, etc, every little element counts in a word logo. and it does as you can see from my many contributions, some u will like some u wont, because of small differences..
hmm neways some new ones;

a little diff take on the X

this is the perfect 'x' i think. closer to oakley design.
i dunno if its close enough that oakley might sue, stil tad different.

Another issue, if you like the red, ive chosen
Pantone Red 032 C
for the rest following this. The significance is when it comes to printing. The corporate colour must be easily identifiable as in a company name logo.

I've been really busy, I've just read this thread, if you're willing to hang on a day or two I can come up with some ideas though (I'm actually typing this during my lunch hour, god I love having a cyber cafe at our offices lol)

I'm not sure if you're looking for ideas or a finished product but here's another one.

Tick's 1st one is the front runner right now, closely followed by Luiz's 1st one. I have Tick's 1st on the site right now (hope you know where to find the URL, hehe) and will put up Luiz's 1st one up this evening. Please keep the PM's coming after seeing them one the actual site.

MyOaks, could you replace your posts with about 5 you like best with Red X replaced with either black or some other color? Thanks!

someone's pretty desperate, aren't they? sheesh... :)

i like Tick's first post... seeing as the majority are basically a spin-off of his design.

I think no matter how you "cut" it, they're all going to look the same now that you have stated you only wanted something simple and that everyone has now seen everyone elses in the open fourm.

Just for fun and nothing more.

heh, I was going to give it a try, but I was thinking exactly what Phil ended up with. Script 'custom' and then a sturdy 'x-metal' portion.

Luiz's 1st is now on the website and looks pretty clean.

I tried several others on the site & they look great. Now I know for sure that no matter how the contest went, we'll end of with one of the best logos out there. :o)

Erik & Phil, can I trouble you with a request? Erik's was as bit too small when placed on the website & Phil's (1st one) was too big. I really like both (I guess it doesn't have to be too conservative as Phil's 1st looks really nice on the website even at wrong size) of these, so I'd like to post them on the website tomorrow & Friday. Could you please please adjust the size for me? If it's too much trouble, I'll just try to resize, but my graphic skills (with Paint) are horrible. Even cutting Tick's into the size made the logo lower quality, hehe.

For me, I like Erik's one.
Basic but it still stand's out. Looks like a professional logo instead of just using fonts and colours to alter the text.
No offence to anyone of the contributors, just my two cents as a potential customer of the site it's done for.

Thank you Hans! Anyway David, the logo was done with 204 x 50 pixels. below is the 1.5 times enlarged version with 306 x 75 pixels.

You can let me know your color preference as well as the font. At the moment I'm using #000000 (black) with Times New Roman Font. This is a classic concept. :)

Stupid me. I think I downloaded the image shown on the page instead of clicking into it. Sorry. Erik, could you replace the first post with the original size? That way you have a fair chance.

@ALL: i think that this is not actually a contest but having fun and helping an O-review member, don't feel bad if your logo's not chosen, anyways, goodluck to all.
