Thanks! If you want the brown base tint, now's the time to grab it as we're nearly out of them. We're changing to grey base tint, if that's what you want, you should wait. :o)
I just purchased a pair of this "Ghost Red" lens together with Blue Iridium (with Green) from David few hours ago. Will post the pics of the lens with my Juliet once I got them!
The +reds are like $199 but the ghost color is only $79 for a limted run of only 10 pairs total that seems reasonable to me... Mine are on the way too.
Sorry to be away so long. I had to block o-review at work, so I can't spend all day on the computer. :o) One of the members asked me to reply, so here I am.
Ghost Red is interesting, but too difficult to produce for them to be production, and that's why they are Limited Edition. I think I'll be able to produce 7-9 for each of the 4 models. Those who saw them mounted on a frame and outside absolutely loved them. It kinda makes other colors look boring. If possible, we'll try to make more lenses with vertical and horizontal color variation.
just one wish. Please think about droping some Crosshair lenses. I really like your new colors - the bronze based metallic purple, the bluesky and the ghost red.... but none is available for the crosshair... and I think I'm not the only one interested in CH lenses.
None of our in-house lenses are toric, or more correctly, as Jim put it "Polaric Ellipsoid lens geometry. A different arc top to bottom than side to side... with taper correction." (I don't think you can call a plano lens toric, but I could be wrong). They are 8-base curve optical grade polycarbonates (light, impact resistant, 100% UV protection, and scratch resistant) similar to Oakley's, but currently ours are 2mm thick to reduce any chance of warping during mirror and other processing. We will be moving to GE Plastics version of polycarbonate called "LEXAN" in the near future and should be able to produce 1.5mm thick lenses.
We do have 2 Oakley polaric ellipsoid lens, the +Red and G26, and most of these are purchased for looks rather than functionality. I personally had no vision problems with +Red in a Penny, but it really depends on the person. Technically, it's not the ideal lens to fit x-metals.
We've had trouble with Crosshair, in terms of cut quality, so that's why we don't offer them now. We'll try it again with 1.5mm lens, and if it works, they will be available. Also, HJ and/or HJ XLJ lenses are in the pipe, so that could mean Romeo II as well maybe? Still, we're talking months...
We are always working very hard (even blocking o-review at work) to come up with innovative products, increase quality, and reduce price. You have to remember that it's only been a few months that we've been producing our in-house lenses. Oakley had it's beginning as a grip manufacturer for bikes, and it's interesting how they ended up making sunglasses instead of bikes. For us, right now IS our humble beginning, so please be patient with us.
Probably not with our lenses. We were going to offer Oakley Rx'ed sunglasses and OCE at an attractive price on our website, but we've been too busy, so our website is on the backburner. Not even sure if anyone would be interested.
Todd, u placed order too? haha I ordered mine last week but have yet to receive. I believe the shipment will take a week but cant wait to put them on my Juliet. It seems like many of us here have dealed with David and all are satisfied with the products. Thumps Up David!
