Today my wife went Christmas shopping in Dawsonville, GA about 50 miles North of Atlanta. She bought back goodies from the Oakley Vault there... Did anyone know there was one there? It is not listed on the Oakley website.

So there's finally one in striking distance? That's excellent news.

Scott, what did they have? Anything worth a 3 1/2 hour drive?

Chad,
Not sure the wife went and she picked up some shirts for her. They plan on being open thursday around 2359(friday). I am thinking we might take the 2 hr drive down. It is a huge complex. If I go I will let you all know.

Hit the Vault about 0600 on Black Friday and was very disapointed with service and knowledge of the people here. Not really any good deals and nothing of intrest to buy. They had two pair of leopard fours for $85 and I did find a Rasta MD... the guy said it was on sale for $145. I told him he was on crack, that no MD sold for that and to go check again. He checked the book and said that is what it showed. I think Oakley might want to review how they price glasses at Vaults.

I can speak for 2 vaults and from that I can say, DISREGARD EVERYTHING THEY SAY. I cant understand how an entire staff can seem so uninterested with Oakley and put out when asked about it. Prices, Models, Colorways, all questions about any of these will be responded with a quick roll of the eyes and long flip through some book full of prices.

You folks need to come up to the Vault in Washington State, they have very knowledgable people when it comes to Oakley! Of course WA is a bit far from GA. :)

I swear, Oakley needs more people like Freesh working at their O-Stores/Vaults.

Well, that just stinks. I was looking forward to rolling down there this weekend and spending some dough, guess I'll have to pass now.

Thanks for the rundown Scott.

yea i totally agree about the vault like i talk to others about oakleys and about the site but i get no response like theres only 1 other guy that likes oakleys and every1 just seems to want the discount and really doesnt care. i've loved oakley since i put a pair on but when i got introduced to this site its like i cant get enough of the knowledge and how much stuff u can do to them like customing them and all. this site has helpd me too.

Thanks Oak I'm very flattered !

And Scott...Rasta MD ? Sure you don't mean Fat Cat ?

It saddens me to see so many people don't care about such a cool job with such a cool company...

The Leopard Four I got was only $39, and the Rasta's were $80.

Yes, Freesh it was FC, not MD. It was 0500 in the morning and I had driven 100 miles with my wife as she told me about what she was going to buy all day on Black Friday... I was a little out of it.

You have to give Vaults a little bit of a brake on names and prices because there product mix on glasses as well as the prices can change randomly.

A lot of times the Vaults just have the price list sheets for each case on a clipboard on top of the case. I find it works best for me to just snag the clipboard and peruse for anything that strikes my interest. It save both time and hassle for both me and the Vault staff. This works particularly well since the pricing can be so out of whack at the Vaults - it makes it a lot easier to spot a great deal.

Guess I'm just too chicken to try that since I don't want to ruffle any feathers by acting like I own the store. .

I feel bad when I hear about stores lacking an o-interest. I know at my store I was the only realy oakley fan until I started showing the others the tech that is part of oakley, and the older cool styles and all. There are still employees that dont really have an interest other than doing what is necessary to keep their job because that is what it is to them. And we really cant fire them for not loving oakley for what it is as long as they do thier job. Hopfully those guys can at least get trained up on thier product knowledge, that is the main thing that is always needed.

what store u at paul? yea itd be easier for ppl to just ask us when they already knew which price they wanted to spend, i've had alot of ppl try on like 4 or 5 pairs and then be like damn thats expensive then i offer the de eyewear or discountuned and they still say thats to much i feel hopeless. but then it'd kinda make our job really boring if the ppl just helpd themselves, yea there was a couple staff telling people about o rokr i was like WOW dude u cant say that lol then the manager was like WHAT THE

Paul, its a little harder than that in Vaults because their inventory is constantly changing as they sell through DE, but you are correct some people just do the minimum they need to do to get their pay check, but thats everywhere not just Oakley.
