I'll have to check at home. I have both, and i'm pretty sure the intent is to have them the same color (didn't Oakley used to call the FMJ color 5.56? & 7.62 for the darker FMJ color?).

With that said, doesn't Oakley claim that FMJ colors can be slightly different batch by batch. At least, that was always the reason they gave me when they would switch out the whole frame of the Jackets instead of just the broken earsock.

Oogie is correct that FMJ 5.56 is a light satin silver. FMJ+ looks similar, but I'm not sure if it is truly the same. FMJ 7.62 is the darker metallic grey that to my knowledge has not been used in quite awhile.

Ed (and thus oogie) is right AFAIK. FMJ 5.56 has the satin finish to it and can look almost whitish depending on the light. FMJ+ has a flat grey finish but really reflects in bright light (if that makes any sense).

My brother has both and the Moon is a lighter less shiny silver than the OTT.
hope that answers your question.

by the way they both look silly LOL.

After taking a look at home, I think I was only "sorta" right. The 5.56 full metal color of the Moon isn't exactly the same color as the FMJ color of the overthetops (and the new FMJ frames on recent models). The moon does have a lighter shade of silver, while the overthtops have a deeper (almost mercury) colored frame. Not much of a difference, but they are not the same. OK, I feel like such a girl now.

End with a macho note: Dude, they're silver!
