I've seen a few on ebay, and pictures of users here who have custom pieces for the Juliets/Pennys... does anyone know of any other sources for these sideblinders, a la X-Men?

Only one person makes them and they're $125 per set. I have a pair for both my Penny and Juliet, but no pics yet. The color of the blinders is matched to the X Metal frame, but unfortunately, we haven't bought our X Metal/Ruby Juliet and Penny yet. Maybe I'll take them to the store this weekend and snap some pics if anyone wants.

I'm still upset with Zik for the lenses he has for the Juliet... =P

Nice.... I think it actually looks pretty decent. How do you like them? Would you recommend them?

wow... very nice blinders indeed. a tad expensive though. Are they worth it?

Your rubies look pretty good too. Are they the latest ones? When did you get em?

I'm wondering if the Sideblinders fit all head types that are big. Anybody with a huge head that have these?

Let's see...to answer the questions:

Tony - I actually love them. I think the look and feel of the Penny is the best, however if you have very large eye sockets, you might feel they're a bit small for you. These are just barely on that verge for me. The Juliet is a really tight, snug fit. Works really, really well. I have little problem with fogging; it does occur, but not often. Also, they're kind of a tension-fit, so you need to be a little careful in removing them so they don't fall right off. But it's not a huge problem.
I'd say for anyone who is a really big fan of the movie or Cyclops in general, these are a must have. However, I might be the only extremist who will eventually get them molded directly into a pair of Juliet and Penny so that there are no seams and that I don't to ever worry about them falling off.

Sean - As mentioned, if you're a fan of the movie/Cyclops, they're very much worth it. Pricey, yes. But they're made by a movie fan like myself who just happens to have the skills for this sort of thing. So he's not exactly got high-end, mass production machinery. He has to pay for materials, time to make molds, cleaning up the final casts, painting, etc. So I can understand the cost.
Although, prop replicas is another slight hobby of mine, so I also have more knowledge of what kinds of time and money goes into these things. For example, I have the most spot-on replication of the De Umbrarum Regis Novum Portis, or the Nine Gates to the Kingdom of Shadows, as seen in the Johnny Depp movie, The Ninth Gate. It cost me $500, but was well worth the price to me.
These Rubies are in fact of the latest release. Unfortunately, I have not yet bought them, but our OPD is such a cool guy, he's holding them for us till we have the cash to grab them.

Jumpman - I believe that the Juliet blinders should fit just about anyone who can wear a Juliet, the Penny...well, the same is probably true. If the Penny sits on you very comfortably, then the blinders should be fine. If they're already a bit small, then I would probably not bother.

Hope I answered everyone's questions adequately. =)

They look really good & authentic.
As Oakley fans, when it comes to other brands of sunglasses, don't we all have blinders on?

No kidding. This bugger has better slogans and one-liners than the most top-paid advertising execs out there combined!

very nice explanation. Would the blinders still work of I have a 50shox on my left and 25shox on my right?

Yea. The blinders don't really have anything to do with the shox. You just can't close the earstems.

Sindeblinders searched for in the database and just found this forum ... I think it would be interesting to know a little more when it was launched value someone could help us ?

They were never officially released for sale by Oakley, so there was no launch value.

There have been many attempts to replicate the blinders, the closest of which came from another collector that claimed to be a former Oakley modeller...though even these weren't all that close to the original (admittedly he has improved a lot in the years he's made them). The others are ok for display but naturally aren't screen accurate.

Some of us have been lucky enough to get original Oakley-produced Penny or Juliets with the blinders on, but that is few and far between.

Interestingly enough, back when X-men: Days of Future Past was released, Oakley had a few of the current and previous Cyclops glasses pictured on Oakley.com. Many of them aren't what we've actually seen in the movies. For instance, the Radarlock didn't have the bottom pieces attached (And when I say bottom pieces, I mean the "wings" that flare out near the cheeks). Some in the prop collector community have hypothesized that after Oakley gave these glasses to the production crew, the crew further modified them to their liking.
