If anyone from Oakley is reading this, please consider offering the larger, Asian Fit nosebombs for Hatchet in the US. For all of us Asians outside of Japan (and Phil!) who own Hatchets, the thin nosebombs allow the frame to sit much closer to our faces than other styles (not really a good thing comfort-wise).

The X-Metal and Magnesium families all have two nosebomb sizes, so why not O-Luminum?

I was told by customer service that Oakley will not offer the Asian Fit parts unless there is significant customer demand. I am writing this thread to indicate that even in our small community of Hatchet owners, I think we all would appreciate those larger nosebombs.

Hopefully someone out there is listening...

I have already talked to Oakley twice about getting larger nose pieces and even requested that they contact R&D about producing them. When I had found out about the AE nose pieces I had then sent them a photo of the two so they lowly rep knows that they do exist.

I do want larger nose peices for the Hatchets as well.

i might be able to help you guys, i'm in asia.

my friend's brother from US is coming back and arriving on the 20th dec, but the thing is he's not going back to US any time soon, it should be around early feb 2005 after his sister's wedding(who's my friend).

if until then you guys still haven't got the nosebombs u want, i'll be glad to help you out.

i know one of the Oakley distributor's employee in Bali, i'll ask him next time when i call him up if they have asian version of hatchet nosebombs or not(honestly? i can't promise you if they have it, cos he said they get supplies from Oakley australia, not japan)

i myself am trying to order a black kelvar soft vault from him but they're out of stock for now.

no problem there Phil, don't thank me yet. by the way, just in case if later it turns out the nosebombs are available, please don't ask me to send it by mail to you guys. it's not bcos i don't want to but it's becos the post office in this country sucks! either it'll be lost, or it'll be arriving 3-6 months later, or never at all(insurance? yeah right, try and claim it, you'll end up paying more), this is the reason many ebay sellers won't ship to indonesia.

guys, tomorrow i'm gonna call up the Oakley guy to order some microbags(for me and my uncle), i promise i'll ask him about the asian hatchet nosebombs. i will update you guys with the price(if available) by tomorrow(in 24 hours) the latest.

update:

bad news, i already called the guy and he told me they don't have the asian fitting for indonesian hatchets. when i told him that japan supposed to make the nosebombs for asian market, he said that Oakley Indonesia gets their stuff from Australia and US, not Japan. i guess that makes sense cos a supply line from Japan would cost more.
