I have an update on these here glasses. After talkin to Paul yesterday he said that Oakley will not do any customs outside of the colorways of the OCP program. So Violet Iridium is out. The glasses will have to be color combos that is available on the OCP programs only. So G26, Violet Iridium, and those other lens colors we love are out. I'm sure Bill, gary or Paul will post a bit more later on today.

Ah well, a bit of a bummer. But if that's the case, I think it might be helpful to get a listing of the OCE lenses available for the Five. I know the OCE frames were listed on the last page. But all I remember seeing in the o-store for the OCE Fives were bronze and grey.

There are plain colors only in the Fives 3.0...They don't even show it in the oce section, so are we limited to the lens options that are currently available? If so, we are cornered into Black, Dark Bronze, Grey, and Dark Grey which none really jump out and say "Look At Me"...Can Ruby be a option since the Scelzi is done in those? Or can we use older colors that were available?

Ruby would definetely be the best "Look At Me" lens, the others are kinda common...

I gotta say, I'm not down for a stock/stock frame/lens combination. Someone post the OCE options and I might change my mind.

They will still be "limited" to a degree. Since they are going to have VUTT etched on the lens, no one else will be able to get that etched unless it is Paul who orders. I still don't know all the details on everything as to why it isn't allowed to have the other colors.

the OCE catalog I've got at the store has:
Grey
Dark Bronze
Black Irid. (+ Polar)
Ice
Bronze Polar

Brian is pretty much right, there is only one other color, but it is still a basic color...Ice is available though...

So that means no matching blue icon :(

Maybe matching logo with Grey lenses... Haha

so basically, this is an OCE with a custom engraving?

This all is news to me as well. I can honestly say we tried every angle with them. We even posed the the question of changing the frame to a Gascan, a toric lens, thinking that they already had blanks of those frome M-Frames and Riddles.

It sucks but the reasoning behind it is most likely the reasoning behind the O-Reviews decision to stay out of the custom biz. If they do it for VUTT, they'll have to do it for everyone. OPDs everywhere would have customs that looked better than the actual release models and there'd be chaos.

I have on more question to be answered and then we'll decide if its even worth proceeding. If they will allow us to swap the icons of the OCE frames, it still may be worth doing.

I'm thinking things like a White Gascan with Gold Iridium and a Gold Icon. Or a Black MD with a White Icon etc...

So wait just a little bit longer and we'll see what we can do exactly. As always. anyone that wants off the list please just PM me and it will be done.

I appreciate the thanks, but I feel like I ramped you guys up only to let you down. Bottom line is, if I wouldnt buy it we wont do it. Unless they'll switch around the icons (which admittedly we could do ourselves) I'm just gonna suggest to Paul that the project be scatched.

If only there was some way of showing how dedicated we are to Oakley products then maybe they'd reconsider. Dann, can you think of some publicly veiwable way of showing our love for Oakley?

Maybe we could consider an OCE MD instead. I always thought a Olive/ Fire combo would be sexy & that's currently being offered as an option

That, or a customized Gascan(Matte Black/Fire - Fire is offered as a replacement lens, but I didn`t see this combo before, and maybe a red sign-WOWWW)
