Painted protos of MP-23 Exhaust and MP-24 Star Saber:

Don't know why Exhaust is #23 rather than #20a, but I suppose it doesn't matter at this point.

Both sweet, although I have no attachment to either, so my wallet may escape this round, haha.

I picked up Generations Jetfire (or Skyfire, if you prefer) recently. A great representation of Skyfire as he appeared in the cartoons, and a wonderful first step towards hopefully a future Masterpiece edition. Transformation is very basic, so much so that instructions aren't needed. While it transforms well enough, it certainly could use some of the elegant engineering of the MP line (and I also prefer Classic Jetfire's transformation). It could also use some of the posibilty of the MP line as well, including independent fingers. Size-wise, it's in the same range as MP Grimlock and the MP jets/seekers. Though Jetfire should be bigger than both figures, the Leader Class size is still awesome since gives us the largest Jetfire since the original toy.

The big complaint is the chrome weapons. While Chrome looks awesome, it does chip readily with every transformation. I guess that's why a lot of collectors prefer the Tomy Takara version over the Hasbro one. Still, this will be a very popular figure, and I expect to see several different variants in the years to come. Great value for $50.

Thanks for the review! I didn't know it was shipping already. So the chrome weapons just chip from pegging and removing? Brand new they weren't chipped though right?

Since the packaging looks super cool and it has a window and he comes already in bot mode, I was planning on buying either the generations or Takara version just to display in box C10.

Other than the Takara version being better to play with though, I don't understand why it's like $30 more expensive as I don't see extra paint apps.

I got MP Wheeljack on the way, so hopefully I get a good one and complete one of my displays. Hopefully pics soon.

Two of the five guns had chipping near the pegs straight out of the packaging. The other guns and thruster pack were otherwise fine. A couple of the other guns got chipping at the corners as i transformed the toy more.

Tomy's prices are higher across the board due to it being imports. I'm sure the extra cost is mostly shipping and import taxes rather than anything extra for the figure.

I would love to see MP Wheeljack. Looks like a great figure. I recently got MP Prowl and I really like the cars now. Just wish it was a bigger scale.

I finally got to mess with my MP Wheeljack and filled a display in the process. I think Wheeljack is super cool. Not as much metal as previous MP autos, but it makes it better as far as possible factory paint flaws. The transformation is not that bad, and looks awesome in either mode. Also got the coin and amazon exclusive piece, set is worth it in my opinion.

Fantastic display! Wheeljack looks great. Congrats on getting him! Menasor/Intimidator looks especially awesome. I love what the third parties are doing with the combiners these days.

Game, Takara Tomy makes the two guys on the sides, Fransproject makes the big guy in the middle.

Oak, yup the 3rd parties are cooking right now. I've only bought Fansproject so far (I also got their 1st release Munitioner/Explorer which is peeking down from the display above), and what I have from them has no drop off in quality from Takara/Hasbro (or even better). I like them so much I even bought doubles of the main crossfire kits to keep MISB (seen behind).

There's a lot of super cool 3rd party dinobots coming out, but I've held out so far. I've also held out on other combiners, except for Intimidator since I was so happy with Munitioner/Explorer before. I do think I'm going to go after MMC Feral Rex though, it looks so nice and I've heard nothing but great things about it.

I'm almost out of space again now though, and don't really know where I'd put another case, haha. I did add Hasbro MP Sunstorm too, I broke down since I found it for a nice price. Once TF source gets Generations Jetfire in, I'll get that too. I have no idea where I'll put Feral Rex or MP Ultra Magnus later this year, haha.

Ha! We always seem to find a way to make room for more. Looking forward to seeing your new additions, including MP Ultra Magnus.

The third party Dinobots will probably be awesome. The ones I'm really looking forward to are the Scorponok and Metroplex analogs, Utopia and Black Zarak. From what I see of their dimensions, they're suppose to be close to Generations Metroplex in size (with 4 times the price tag as well).

Utopia and Black Zarak both look top notch. I wouldn't have space or $$ for either of them, haha, but they look to be awesome top level additions to any collection.

I picked up a nice MISB Jetfire locally this weekend. Now I got something to go along with Sunstorm, those two barely fit together in the Detolf. Jetfire is a great toy for $50 though, great bang for the buck.

:) :) :)

I think there a few more like Grimlock in smaller potato. Also the robot Prime can sit on Grimlock's back.

Jetfire is staying in his box for the foreseeable future, too scared to chip the chrome from your story Oak, haha.

Cool Transformapotatoes Ruben! haha.

My mother-in-law found 2 incomplete G1 Bluestreak's at a thriftstore. With some careful time i can combine them to make one. That old diecast(?) and plastic is brittle. She also gave me a G1 Motor Master and Breakdown.

A chrome Megatron, hmmm, very interesting. Although on the normal MP-5, while it has its balance issues, I've always thought the shine on the silver was just right.

This is one I'd keep MISB, but tough because of the dumb toy gun laws. Unless it just blows me away, I prob wont pick it up unless I can get a legit original MISB one somehow. It has potential to be cool though, I'll be interested to see actual pics of the release.

Import from Japan dealers via courier. That's how I got my MISB original MP Megatron without the orange plug.

Ah, I'll look into that. I wonder If the toy gun laws were in effect when mp-5 first came out? Somehow I got my MP-5 back then factory sealed without the plug.

I think the law was always in effect (a guess, mostly). I don't think all dealers complied with it.

I was thinking how it's not much of a difference to go from the silver to chrome, but now I see that it's gold...dang, I want it, haha, another to add to the list, haha.
