I wear about 60% of my collection...most of the zero/Mars/Moon stuff see's no action....and my leather wallet/clip got retired after my wife washed it once - didn't hurt it but scared the bejesus out of me....and then there are the ones I buy for display that I don't like or won't really fit me....
That's why I'm hoping for a Moon 2.0 with the newer O Matter. And throwback Zero design, (even to the late 90's ones) with the more durable O Matter. I figure my Mars are strong enough for everyday wear.
Each pair in my collection is eligible for wearing. But it's really only the newer stuff ... maybe the most recent 50 pairs or so ... that I generally consider wearing. The other stuff is worn very rarely, mostly because I'm just not feeling the style right now. But I know my Tens, SJ and Topcoat will ragin' back in style any day now.
well... i'm one of those "wear most from time to time but have a regular rotation" type of guy. i do try to wear everything in my collection occasionally but i tend to use the more common and/or less expensive Oakleys in my collection, namely:
Pewter/VR28 Blue Iridium Big Square Wire
Brown/VR28 Black iridium Why 8,1
Pewter/Black Iridium E Wire 2.1
Matte Black/Black Iridium Whisker
Silver/Fire Iridium Polarized Square Wire 2.0
Polished/Titanim Clear Why 8.0
some of my other Oakleys are too nice (and not easily replaceable) to use everyday, but most do get some use every now and then.
as for my watches, it's the same situation as the glasses, although i have to admit there's a few pieces in my collection that were only worn once or twice.
however, i'll only buy items that'll actually fit me and i can actually wear, hence the lack of X-Metals and O-Matter frames in my collection.
It all gets worn. My ideal collection is one with an Oakley I can wear at any occasion- not one with every Oakley, or even every Oakley I think is cool that doesn't actually look good on me.
I'm not even that concerned about keeping it original. Of my seven pairs, three have a non-standard lens color.
I remain, first and foremost, a dealer, and a big part of what I try to do with my personal collection is show people what Oakleys can do for them.
there are folks that just collect pieces though, and not wear them... which is fine because like brennen2x mentions, pieces of art doesn't need to be worn to be appreciated, which is far from a waste of money IMO.
even i'm guilty of having several pieces resigned to display duties, like the Stealth Black Timebomb sitting in my display cabinet after just two times being worn outside.
Wear them ALL, one more often than the others.. I think its such a waste to let only very few ppl get to see them at your home on display, so I rather wear ans show them to the public! =)
EDIT: As Heat Vision says.. I only have few pairs so I dont have any problem wearing them all hehehe...
