Hello all, I'm a new member and totally fascinated with the amount of cool stuff all you guys know about Oakley ... I've been sitting in front of my computer for 2 hours already just reading.

To my question, I own a pair of Square Wire 2.0 (non-spring hinge) Black Chrome with Red Iridium lenses and was wondering if I could just order an extra set of lenses from without having to send my glasses to Oakley Canada. If so, how do I take the lenses out?

Look forward to hearing from all of you!

Keep up the good work!

First off, welcome to the O-Review. There is indeed a lot of collective knowledge here and you can not help but learn all you need to know about Oakley here.

I just did a lens replacement on a pair of Square Wire 2.0's last night for a friend of mine. It is so simple. Get a really small screwdriver and loosen the bolts on the underneath of the earstem hinges. The lenses come out without any drama whatsoever. Slap the new ones in there and Bob's your uncle. It's that easy.

I'm not sure how Oakley Canada does things, but here in Japan I just call up and they will either sell me the kit on its own or replace my lenses for me (in which case they will keep the old ones). Or you could find some for sale on eBay. Oakley Japan wanted 15,000 yen for a pair of Square Wire 2.0 Ice Polarized lenses, but I ended up finding a pair for way cheaper online.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply Rick. I'll give Oakley Canada a call in the morning. I definitely want to keep the lens that I have on now. I was just admiring your gallery of Juliets and was inspired by your professionalism so I took a piture of my only pair of Oakleys. Hope you don't mind that I borrowed your copyrighting technique :) Thanks again!

Welcome Fullback. Switching lenses is easy, like said above.

I agree with Dr. J and Fred and dare anyone who hasn't posted his collection to do so before Fullback has his second pair of lenses!

The Red Iridiums do look pretty good. Like I said, I sent my pair in for a frame replacement and I got an entirely new pair including the Red Iridium lens. My old lenses had tons of scratches on them from dropping them onto the sidewalk (I used to clip them to the front of my shirt and they would always slide out ... but I learned my lesson now)and when I got them back, there were none at all - unless the techs at Oakley buffed them out or something, but I doubt it. I'm sure Oakley have the lenses in stock but I wonder why they don't sell as a replacement kit on their website?

First of all, their website is lacking.

Second of all, if you want to send them in, just take out the lenses and then send them in for new ones. That way you can keep the old and get the new ones.

Finally, welcome to the site, and I really like the pic, excellent quality....Im loving the +Red.
