I read that the silver proto, since it is just that, may be black upon release. I found (and then lost) a rendering of the camera+cage in black and it looked very nice indeed.

Thanks for the article James, great read, got lost in a lot of the technical details but I get the main lines of want they want to do with RED and it looks just amazing.

I think it's funny that, in another thread, we've got pages & pages of complaints about how the new Ruby is very Orange/ Yellow when , in fact, JJ has put millions into developing RED! You're just not looking in the right place.

It's funny. I quite like the name Red. Ruby would have catered to the fad waaaaaay too much.

yea i guess jim is into photography big and bad, i heard he owns some special lens made by cannon that there are only 10 ever made and cost some ungodly amount but when your a billionair, money is just something you never worry about, maybe they use that lens to take those super clear pictures of their glasses

Damn, a $90,000 lens & that's 13 years ago! It looks like it would be good for taking pics of landscapes, you know,...on Mars!
