I took off my Spikes and noticed that the short arms hit the inside of the lenses. A little to late for me on this one but thats why I love this site, don't let it happen to you.

Something must be defective with your hinges. My arms on my spike stop at a fixed point well, well short of hitting the inside of the hinges. I'd ship those back to Oakley after having a conversation with a customer services rep.

edit after reading Phils post further down the thread,, Both arms have stop points.

Ahh, perhaps just a pair that has a defect then.

When I played with my reps sample the right stem hit the lens but the left stem had a stop built into it. Close the left, then right and all is good. Then there was a small gap between teh lower left corner of the light lens and frame. I chalked that one up to early production glitches.

There's too many outside attackers trying to scratch my lenses now I may have to worry abot them self destructing?!?!?

Bet it is only in the samples that reps and the like get. I played with a few different one with no problems.

Saw a pair at a local sunglass store, and a huge ding in the lense!!! Near the side of the frame. Kind of like a bb gun shot.
Then, went to an O store to check out 4 pairs of the Light Tit, and one of the pairs had the ear stems sticking way out when they should be meeting up with the corner of the frames. Both sides were even, so I bet no one would notice.
I have always had little doubt for the QC dept at Oakley. Thats why I ALWAYS check mine out in person, and open a brand new box. Never worn.

These sound a little sketchy....I hope Oakley finds out about all of this so they can clean it up.
