Can the Razrwire earpiece be fitted to a regular half wire? Is it a perfect fit on half wires and/or half wire XLs? Anybody use a Razrwire on any frame other than the one it ships with?

Officially the Motorola bluetooth module is designed for the RazrWire and will not fit any other Oakley.
Officially... So my advice is: Ducktape rules!
(or any other form of creativity)

But isn't the sunglass part of the Razrwire just a Half wire XL made of O-luminum?

It's fitted to Razrwires arms like a track it can slide back and forth to adjust for your ear. The arm itself id a triangular shape unlike most other O stems. It can most likely attach to others but it may be loose and shakey.

I had an idea that I think would work. A Wire clamp custom fit for different models which would provide an extention just below the Earsten on which to clip the Razrwire. I think it would be an easy retrofit to, potentially, sell a lot more BT units. Sorry about the crappy concept drawing

Yes the Razrwire will fit on the Halfwire. Also keep a look out for new frames.

Does that mean the R2 has the same shape stems as the original razrwire glasses?

If I get bored at work Monday night I'll see how many different frames the earpiece fits on.

Todd,
I had the same idea, how funny... The picture is about what I was thinking in my mind. however I was thinking that you will have two ends to that wire. both those ends could come together where the razrwire connects that way it would fit more snug.

It does "fit" the various frames....however it doesn't "slide" back and forth as well do to the variation of thickness on the different stems...therefore - fit will depend on the frames and the size of your head plus the adjustability of the ear boom itself....

They could knock my retrofit clamp idea out of their China mfg. plant for pennies per unit & probably sell a great deal more BT sets. Heck, Oakley could manufacture a sweet little C5 ear curl so the unit could be worn independent of sunglasses!

Can you listen to MP3's on the Razrwire if your phone supports MP3 playback? I'd imagine the batteries wouldn't last very long.Has anyone used it like this?

No, I just tried it myself and it does not work that way, however my phone plays MIDs

I tried it on a few wires Monday night and it was shakey and loose on a few. Crosshair was a no go. When on X-Metals it really only fits at one point, so if you need to slide it forward on the stem towards the lenses it won't work for you.

Im going to get mine this afternoon and first thing im going to try it on my reg. HalfWire and Square Wire. These are the only 2 wires i have, plus i have a SQ wire with transition lenses so i can wear them indoors.

Let us know how it goes. I'm really hoping it will fit a SQ Wire as well.
