I really wish oakley really think out their products more. It seems like the older oakley items ie. sub zeros, romeo 1.0, and other retro glasses are very popular, I really don't like how oakley all of a sudden just stops making a product and doesn't tell anyone, I wish they would have a warning..


I really wish oakley would re-release some of their earlier products, some of their older glasses are very popular and sell for big $$ on ebay, so i hope there is an oakley rep. reading this board. hint hint...

I was told at HQ, that they try to keep an even amount of models in production at any given time, so when new models role out, they re-evaluate the current releases and phase out the least sellers. I do disagree with some of their choices though, the Splice only got 3 years in the public eye. Eye Jackets got 9, but I guess were good sellers. The Blue Camo Fatcat only made it from May to September. Funny how they don't sell, yet are the most sought after.

yea man its wierd, same with their cloths, i like a lot of their clothes but they changes them out soo often too, one thing i have learned with oakley is if you like something the have at the time you better not wait.

i wish you could order their retro stuff, because i know they still have the molds and things to make the old stuff


like i had my FMJ electric mustard jackets break on me a few years back, and i went on their website and they didn't even carry that color anymore, so i called and asked if they could be fixed and the guy said yea we can do that, and what they sent me was like a different version in the electric mustard color, it was a newer one, you know how the old jackets the "O" icon stuck out, well mine is like in the ear stem and doesn't stick out, its like a small O that is glued in the ear stem. so they have to be able to still make the older stuff. sometimes i think they are secretive company, and i heard, that they are not always producing glasses, i heard they make a bunch then shut down the factory after they make them, then check the demand and begin again but its just a rumor

The Eye Jacket you got is technically called the New Eye Jacket. They made it stronger, applied a clear coat and make the icon similar to the rest of the other models out at the time.

A guy at The Sacramento O-store told me Oakley is doing away with all their digital watches & the Crush model will be their low end watch. Any body else hear similar things?

Yeah, I heard a while back that they weren't really doing any watches under $500.

yeah, i've been thinking the same thing. i really should get at least a D1 or a D2 before they realy run out.
