I was just going through my hard drives, archiving photos from the past few months, and couldn't help but share a few for your perusal. It's amazing how strong of a presence Oakley has in professional sports, especially baseball where everyone and their mothers seem to be wearing the Pro M-Frame, like Johnny Damon:

A lot of Half Jackets, too, like Toronto Blue Jays rookie pitcher Gustavo Chacin, who oddly enough, wears his ALL THE TIME, including night games and his '05 MLB profile headshot.

Elsewhere in the baseball world, you have a few guys like Ichiro that have better taste. Here's Toronto Blue Jays Vernon Wells with a sweet pair of X-Metal/Ruby Juliets!

And close-up:

Of course, outside the baseball world, we also have the infamous Juan Pablo Montoya, here with his Colombian-flag icon Gascans:

And close-up:

That is all. For now. :)

Oakley has picked up a chick in the Pro-Compact FWD drive class. I expect they will be full-blown next year. I can't remeber her name but will try to find it.

I'm guessing this in support of their new upcoming line of full-blown "chick" glasses line....

BTW - the latest Oakley Broadcast is very informative and worth a listen.

I did notice Johnny Damon, David Ortiz, and Manny Rameriez were all wearing Thump during batting practice before one of the games on T.V.

Chacin's HJ is Rx, which is why he always wears it. Pitchers aren't allowed to wear glasses otherwise, due to the frequency with which they get hit by comeback shots. Before anyone says anything about ANSI, a baseball going off a bat at around 80MPH is way more impact than Oakley's are rated for.

The ban on Pitchers wearing sunglasses for sun protection is what prompted the B&L/Nike contact lenses.

The lighting on the close-up Ruby Juliet shot almost makes it look like a TiO2 frame. It's sorta sad that JPM has to be on a feeding tube now. Steph's got a pretty badass looking Civic there.

Yeah, upon closer inspection, it does kinda look like TiO2. Here are two more actual pixel crops:

That would be awesome. TiO2/ruby. Wasn't there a thread a few months ago about this, something like the best possible Juliet combination? Maybe Vernon Wells reads the O-Review?

it doesn't look TiO2 to me , you should be able to see it from a distance due to the color-difference

I can just see Vernon Wells sitting at his kitchen table with a T6 screwdriver swapping his ruby lenses...wondering if there are other people like him somwhere out there in this big old world. I'm going to see if I can email him this site address somehow.

If you follow baseball some of the pitching staff on the Angels wear Clear Rx Oakleys.

For those in Europe, or at least those who follow the cycling scene Oakley still has a big presence on bikes. All sorts of custom colors too, like "white out" m-frames for oscar sevilla of the Kelme team. Completly white frame/nose bombs/ear socks/logo's, then a nice ice lens. Got a great shot of them on a poster in my room, maybe I can capture the coolness and post a pic.
