I desperately need a new job right now, and I'm pretty sure SGH would be perfect for me, and that I'd be in my element selling oaks lol. I'm on a friendly basis with the manager there, and she gave me the number to call for the telephone survey thing.... she told me that it's really picky and only about 2 out of 12 people make it through. I mean it seems pretty straightforward, but I just want to make sure there aren't any tricks or anything, or if theres any key questions you have to answer a certain way... not sure if you guys would know much about it, but I just want to make extra sure I get through lol

If anyone can offer me any tips, I'd appreciate it lol

It's all a trick. One big, huge trick. It's like a personaltiy aptitude test and it repeats questions multiple times though worded differently so watch out and don't jump to answer until you hear the entire question. You may even think you know how the question will end and it'll have a small reversal to catch you in a lie. It takes about a half hour as well. But don't rush it and just be honest.

They pay you nothing.They are such a big corp, you would just be a little mouse. They care nothing about their employees

lol omad this is just a part time job.. I'm a highschool student and the job I had for the last year has paid peanuts, so thats not so much a concern. ANd the starting wage at sgh plus the O discount would be alot more worthwhile than my last job...

Ookay... did the test, and yeah alot of the same questions popped up reworded lol.... a few tricky ones where its not really obvious what the answer they're looking for is like... you usually don't care what people think of you... t or f?

phil, will it tell you immediately if you passed, and just give you a generic "we'll contact you in six months if you suit our job opportunities" if you fail?

Cuz I definitely got a generic "we'll contact you within 6 months if...."

The store manager has a number to call and check in on it and hte results should be avail in a few days in not the next day. You usually only do the phone test if they're preped to hire you already depending on your results. It would be a shame to take it and not use you then if you pass.

The discount's all good and fine, if you feel like you can endure the torture of folding t-shirts and straightening hangers in between other menial tasks for little pay all day. Everyday. Welcome to retail.
