Thanks for the input Phil and bong.

I guess what I really need to do is look at what I will mainly use it for, as suggested, and just go from there. Cool factor and all other things aside. I now that seems like the most obvious thing to do from the start. But as this has progressed I guess I've gone from considering it being just used as an audio device to being used for other things too.

I think the photo feature is very cool and the larger screen on the 30gig would be a bonus along with the capacity. I have one of the first Handspring PDAs (grayscale screen) and I don't use it as much as I did in the past. But the 30gig could fill in for the PDA. Because the main features I used the PDA for are basically available on the ipod...some photos, calendar and so forth. So the 30gig is now looking like a nice "all-purpose" tool.

Which I know alot of those features are available on the nano. But if it's gonna be used for other things as well then maybe having the larger capacity would be a better idea.

Maybe I should buy both...ARGHHHH...

I can guarantee that this Nano will only be my first iPod, and not my only iPod. Start small and move from there.

Yeah that's kind of my thought also. So I guess either way you can't go wrong then.
