Ranger- the darkest Ryders lens tint (Brown) transmits 15.5% of available light. Black Iridium Polarized transmits 9%, and is thus darker.

Well , if you haven't tried out other sunglasses , you wouldn't know that oakley is the best.

In Life , no offense to anyone , we gotta taste hell before we know what goodness is like.

Hey when I'm on a patrol boat in the morning sun looking up canyon into the sun and the Ryders lens is darker than Black polarized iridium I know what I'm seeing. I think the mirror coating on the old generation RTX I have makes it darker.

To each their own said the man who kissed the cow.

Hey hey! No kissing animals on the O-Review! I've only got one other pair, the Nike Airelons & only because I got them for a smokin deal from a Nike Outlet store

I thought the Swinger was nice when Arnette owned the company. I had two pair. They just aren't as nice now.

We just started getting the Luxottified Arnettes, Phil, and while I wasn't a big fan before, I absolutely hate that stuff now.

I almost jumped on some FOX glasses today. They were at the Icon store, which is oddly a few stores down from the O-Store. Anyway, the Dean frame was rather like the GasCan, only it fit me better. I rather liked the fit, but couldn't commit to the styling. If they come up on ebay, I might bite.

I'm still waiting on those. I don't know if anyone around me will carry them.

Way back in high school, I bought some Killer Loops for cycling because I couldn't afford M-Frames. Ever since I started working, it's been nothing but Oakley.

I'm sure there are lots of good sunglasses out there from other brands, but I'm just not interested.

I saw the Fox at my local OPD. Didn't both trying them on.

And at the same time Dann, you're probably like " could I try on the Splice?" even though you own every one of them but you want to see if there's any subtle differences that would justify duplicating a pair! I love the sick mind at work!

The Splice's were gone I believe. Making room for the tons of Riddles they have. (which apparently are selling like crazy...)

And I do need another FMJ/Ice so I can display that, but still wear my original pair.

I don't think Fox counts as "other", since they're Oakley-produced anyway...

Other than the non integral hinge & frame quirks is there much difference in the lenses between my Fox Duncan Bronze Tortoise and My Monsterdog, not much except better lens coverage from the Duncan.

The Fox lenses and made like Dragons lenses, just cut from the blank. Unlike Os lenses where they locate the most optically correct point of that blank then cut the lens from that portion.
